Job summary

EOG Resources is seeking a Senior Geologist in Houston, TX to identify, evaluate, and mature exploration opportunities for the International New Ventures Team. The role emphasizes integrating geological, geophysical, petrophysical, and geochemical data to assess petroleum systems and prospects.

Responsibilities include collaborating with interdisciplinary teams of geoscientists, engineers, business development, and land, and applying experience in both conventional and unconventional exploration

Qualifications

• MS degree in Geology and at least 5 years in exploration or development geology.
• Strong ability to integrate geological, geophysical, petrophysical, geochemical, and well log data.
• Proficiency with Petra, Petrel, Kingdom, ArcGIS, and handling large data volumes.

Overview

We are seeking a Senior Geologist to help identify, evaluate, and mature exploration opportunities within our International New Ventures Team in Houston, TX. This is primarily a geologic role that integrates other geological, geophysical, petrophysical, and geochemical data to assess petroleum systems, and to help generate and mature prospects. This position requires a geologist with a strong technical background and a desire to work within an interdisciplinary team of other geoscientists, engineers, business development, and land. Experience in both conventional and unconventional exploration and development is preferred.

Qualifications

• MS degree in Geology and a minimum of 5 years working as an Exploration or Development Geologist.
• Strong expertise in integrating geological, geophysical, petrophysical, geochemical and well log data.
• Proficiency with industry-standard geoscience software such as Petra, Petrel, Kingdom, ArcGIS, or similar platforms, and ability to handle high volumes of data.
• Demonstrated leadership and communication skills; ability to be a team player.
• International exploration experience is a plus; experience in both conventional and unconventional exploration and development is preferred.
