Job summary

Universal Logistics Holdings, Inc. is seeking an experienced General Manager to lead multiple Flint-area warehouse and logistics operations in support of General Motors.

This role oversees performance, safety, customer relationships, and employee development across several facilities and drives operational excellence. You will build strong site leadership, manage budgets and staffing, analyze KPIs, and partner with corporate leadership to align with growth objectives while maintaining a culture

Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressive leadership in warehousing, logistics, supply chain, manufacturing, or automotive operations.
• Multi-site leadership experience preferred.
• Strong customer-facing leadership with strategic partnership ability.
• Experience managing budgets, labor costs, and overall business performance.

Responsibilities

Position Overview

LINC is seeking an experienced General Manager to lead multiple warehouse and logistics operations supporting General Motors in the Flint, Michigan market. This role is responsible for the overall performance, financial results, customer relationships, safety, and employee development across several facilities, including:

• UD Flint
• Flint LOC
• Flint Engine
• Flint Marshaling

The General Manager will provide strategic and operational leadership to ensure all locations consistently achieve customer expectations while maintaining a strong culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.

What You’ll Do

• Provide leadership and oversight for multiple warehouse and logistics operations supporting General Motors
• Develop and mentor site leadership teams, including Operations Managers, Supervisors, and support staff
• Drive safety, quality, productivity, and financial performance across all facilities
• Maintain strong customer relationships and serve as the primary escalation point for operational issues
• Manage budgets, labor planning, staffing strategies, and operational expenses
• Analyze KPIs and operational metrics to identify trends and drive continuous improvement initiatives
• Ensure compliance with company policies, customer requirements, and regulatory standards
• Lead employee engagement, retention, succession planning, and leadership development efforts
• Partner with corporate leadership to support growth initiatives and long-term business objectives
• Coordinate resources and best practices across multiple locations to maximize efficiency and service levels
• Lead problem-solving efforts related to customer service, staffing, production, inventory, and operational challenges
• Foster a culture focused on accountability, teamwork, safety, and operational excellence

What We’re Looking For

• 7+ years of progressive leadership experience in warehousing, logistics, supply chain, manufacturing, or automotive operations
• Multi-site leadership experience preferred
• Strong customer-facing leadership skills with the ability to build and maintain strategic partnerships
• Experience managing budgets, labor costs, and overall business performance
• Demonstrated success leading large teams in a fast-paced operational environment
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
• Proven ability to coach, develop, and retain leaders and employees
• Experience with warehouse management systems, inventory control, and operational reporting
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and operational software systems
• Bachelor’s degree preferred, but equivalent leadership experience will be considered
