Job summary

Pacific Life Insurance Company seeks a Senior Full Stack Developer for the Life Web Solutions team. This role is four days onsite at the Newport Beach, CA office and will drive self‑service capabilities for customers on external sites, plus marketing technology solutions.

You will own end‑to‑end feature development using React and Node.js, with AWS, microservices, and CI/CD emphasis. Strong API design and security skills required, in a collaborative, fast‑paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 6+ years of software development with at least 2 years as a Full‑Stack Engineer.
• Proven experience building web apps with React; strong UI/UX focus.
• Server‑side: Node.js; Python/Java a plus.
• Experience with AWS, microservices, and API design (SOAP/REST/GraphQL).
• Database experience with SQLServer, PostgreSQL, DynamoDB.
• Proficient in DevSecOps and CI/CD practices.
• Experience with AzureDevOps or similar work‑management tools.

This role will be 4 days onsite in the Newport Beach, CA office and will play a key role in PacificLife’s growth by building and delivering cutting‑edge self‑service capabilities for customers on our external facing websites, in addition to enabling marketing technology solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deliver end‑to‑end solutions to meet business needs and build in accordance with enterprise architecture guidelines.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to understand project requirements and deliver high‑quality software solutions.
• Own end‑to‑end feature development, from concept to deployment.
• Identify and address performance bottlenecks, security vulnerabilities, and system stability concerns.
• Design, develop, and maintain end‑to‑end CI/CD pipelines for continuous delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 6+ years of software development experience with a minimum of 2 years as a Full‑Stack Engineer.
• Proven expertise in building and maintaining web applications using modern frameworks and libraries, such as React.
• Strong proficiency in server‑side languages (Node.js); experience with Python and/or Java is a plus.
• Experience with AWS Cloud services and serverless computing.
• Solid understanding of microservices architecture and SOAP/RESTful/GraphQL API design.
• Experience with database technologies (SQLServer, PostgreSQL, DynamoDB).
• Proficiency with DevSecOps practices and tools for continuous integration and deployment.
• Experience with work‑management platforms such as AzureDevOps or similar.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and the ability to adapt to new technologies quickly.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Compensation & Benefits

Base Pay Range: $124,830.00 – $152,570.00 (actual compensation may vary based on experience, qualifications, and location). Eligible employees may receive additional incentive pay.
