Job summary

Schwan's Company in Alabama is hiring for a full-time QA/Quality Assurance role in a food manufacturing environment. The position supports product quality, applies HACCP and GMPs, and uses SAP and InfinityQS to manage data and reports.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and enforce HACCP and GMP compliance; report deviations to management.
• Generate and manage product specification reports; process SAP transactions to hold or release products.
• Verify product quality by adhering to specifications and conducting traceability exercises.
• Investigate and document food safety incidents; complete corrective actions and incident reports.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to collect samples, support sensory evaluations, and review Certificates of Analysis.

Starting Pay: $25.50 - $28.50 per hour

Hours: 5:30 am to 2 pm

What You Will Do:

• Monitor and enforce compliance with HACCP and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), promptly reporting deviations to management.
• Generate and manage product specification reports and process SAP transactions to place product on hold or release.
• Verify product quality by ensuring adherence to specifications and conducting traceability exercises to support product integrity.
• Investigate and document food safety incidents, completing corrective actions and incident reports accurately and in a timely manner.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to collect samples, support sensory evaluations, and review Certificates of Analysis to maintain regulatory and procedural compliance.

What You Will Bring:

• High school diploma or GED and 2+ years of relevant food safety or quality assurance experience.
• Intermediate proficiency in SAP and InfinityQS (IQS) software for quality data management and reporting.
• Working knowledge of HACCP principles as applied to plant operations; HACCP certification preferred.
• Familiarity with USDA, FDA regulations, and audit processes related to food safety and compliance.
• Ability to perform thorough investigations and documentation of product and ingredient food safety incidents, while working in various temperature environments.
