Job summary

CJ Schwan's is hiring for a full-time Food Safety/QA specialist at our Fullerton, CA facility. Starting pay ranges from $25.50 to $28.50 per hour, with first shift hours 5:30 am to 2 pm.

The role focuses on HACCP/GMP compliance, product spec reporting, and SAP transactions to manage holds/releases. Requires a high school diploma or GED and 2+ years in food safety or QA, plus familiarity with USDA/FDA regulations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; 2+ years in food safety or QA.
• Experience with SAP and InfinityQS for data management.
• Working knowledge of HACCP principles in plant operations; certification preferred.
• Familiarity with USDA and FDA regulations and audits.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and enforce HACCP and GMPs; promptly report deviations to management.
• Generate and manage product specification reports and SAP transactions to place product on hold or release.
• Verify product quality by ensuring adherence to specifications and conducting traceability exercises.
• Investigate and document food safety incidents, completing corrective actions and incident reports.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to collect samples, support sensory evaluations, and review COA documents.

What You Will Do

• Investigate and document food safety incidents, completing corrective actions and incident reports accurately and in a timely manner.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to collect samples, support sensory evaluations, and review Certificates of Analysis to maintain regulatory and procedural compliance.

What You Will Bring

• High school diploma or GED and 2+ years of relevant food safety or quality assurance experience.
• Intermediate proficiency in SAP and InfinityQS (IQS) software for quality data management and reporting.
• Working knowledge of HACCP principles as applied to plant operations; HACCP certification preferred.
• Familiarity with USDA, FDA regulations, and audit processes related to food safety and compliance.
• Ability to perform thorough investigations and documentation of product and ingredient food safety incidents, while working in various temperature environments.
