Job summary

Insight Global has a client seeking a Senior FPGA Engineer to design and develop FPGA-based digital hardware solutions for advanced communications and RF systems. You will own FPGA development from architecture to verification, working with hardware, software, systems, and DSP engineers to deliver high-performance real-time processing solutions.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of FPGA or digital hardware design experience.
• Experience with Xilinx or Intel/Altera FPGA platforms.
• Experience with FPGA simulation, debugging, and verification.
• Familiarity with Ethernet and TCP/IP networking.

Job Description

A client of Insight Global is seeking a Senior FPGA Engineer to design and develop FPGA-based digital hardware solutions supporting advanced communications, RF, sensing, and embedded systems. In this role, you will own FPGA development from architecture and design through simulation, implementation, integration, and verification. You'll partner closely with electrical, software, systems, and DSP engineers to build high-performance real-time processing solutions and help drive technical decisions throughout the product lifecycle. The ideal candidate has strong FPGA design experience, is comfortable working in complex hardware environments, and enjoys solving challenging technical problems while contributing to both system architecture and hands-on development.

Skills and Requirements

6+ years of FPGA or digital hardware design experienceStrong FPGA development experience using VHDL (or Verilog with willingness to learn VHDL)Experience with FPGA simulation, debugging, and verificationExperience with Xilinx or Intel/Altera FPGA platformsUnderstanding of digital design fundamentals and hardware architectureAbility to work across hardware, software, and systems engineering teamsEligible to obtain a security clearanceSoftware Defined Radio (SDR) experienceExperience supporting RF, communications, radar, electronic warfare, or signal processing systemsFamiliarity with Git or other version control toolsBasic C/C++ programming experienceExperience creating FPGA testbenches and automation scriptsKnowledge of networking protocols such as Ethernet and TCP/IPExperience with high-speed interfaces and real-time embedded systems
