Job summary

Chestnut Labs is seeking a skilled automotive service technician to perform basic to moderately difficult vehicle maintenance and repairs in a fast-paced environment.

The role emphasizes preventive maintenance, diagnosing mechanical and electronic issues using diagnostic computers, and coordinating with supervisors on more complex repairs to keep equipment available and in optimal condition.

Qualifications

• Perform basic to moderately difficult vehicle and preventive maintenance, component replacements, and repairs.
• Maintain, repair, inspect, and/or replace brakes, steering mechanisms, springs, air bags, lights, air conditioners, water, fuel, oil, air filters, coolant and chemicals, transmissions, tire air pressure, tire tread, tires, chassis, drive lines, u-joints, air tanks, batteries, air lines, power cords, wipers, mirrors, drive train components, or other equipment as necessary
• Perform facility maintenance duties
• Use shop management system and other electronic systems available
• Diagnose mechanical and electronic problems, using diagnostic computer when applicable
• Identify root cause of failures/conditions and perform repairs as required|n

Starting pay is negotiable and will be determined based on experience, certifications, and applicable licenses.

GENERAL PURPOSE

Perform the majority of truck and/or trailer maintenance and repairs with minimal support of others, ensuring that equipment is available and in optimal operating condition. Work with the assistance of other mechanics or supervisors when performing highly technical or intricate diagnostic repairs. Work under minimal supervision, exercising some judgment and discretion in resolving issues or making repairs.
