Job summary

DNOW L.P. seeks a Sr. Fitter to manufacture, fit, and assemble pressure vessel components from detailed drawings or specs. You will read complex blueprints and collaborate with welders and engineers to ensure quality and compliance.

This role requires precision, adherence to ASME Section VIII, Division 1, and a strong safety mindset. On-site fabrication with cranes, grinders, and torches is routine, focusing on continuous improvement and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Proven fitter experience in pressure vessels or heavy fabrication.
• Strong knowledge of ASME Section VIII, Division 1.
• Ability to read complex drawings and welding symbols.
• Skilled with precision measuring and layout tools.
• Experience with carbon steel, stainless steel, and alloys.
• Good teamwork and communication with welders and inspectors.

Responsibilities

• Interpret complex blueprints, isometrics, and ASME specs to fit/assemble vessel components.
• Layout, align, and tack-weld parts using squares, levels, and calipers.
• Prepare and fit nozzles, flanges with exact tolerances.
• Collaborate with welders, inspectors, and engineers to ensure ASME VIII compliance.
• Conduct fit-up inspections and adjust to maintain dimensional accuracy and weld quality.
• Operate fabrication equipment (cranes, grinders, torches) safely.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment.

The Sr. Fitter is responsible for manufacturing, fitting, and assembling parts and components from detailed drawings or specifications.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• - Interpret and work from complex blueprints, isometric drawings, and ASME code specifications to fit and assemble pressure vessel components.
• - Lay out, align, and tack-weld parts using precise measuring tools such as squares, levels, and calipers.
• - Prepare and fit nozzles, flanges, and other vessel attachments with exact tolerances.
• - Collaborate closely with welders, inspectors, and engineers to ensure compliance with ASME Section VIII and customer requirements.
• - Conduct fit-up inspections and make adjustments to maintain dimensional accuracy and weld quality.
• - Operate fabrication equipment such as overhead cranes, grinders, and cutting torches safely and efficiently.
• - Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-focused work environment.
