Job summary

DNOW is hiring a skilled fitter to interpret complex blueprints and ASME specifications for pressure vessel components. You will lay out, align, and tack-weld parts with precision, prepare nozzles and attachments, and collaborate closely with welders, inspectors, and engineers to ensure dimensional accuracy and weld quality.

Qualifications

• Experience reading and interpreting complex fabrication drawings and welding symbols.
• Solid knowledge of ASME Section VIII, Division 1 fabrication standards.
• Proficiency with precision measuring tools and layout equipment.
• Ability to read complex blueprints and apply tolerances accurately.
• Strong teamwork and clear communication with welders and inspectors.

Responsibilities

• Interpret and fit from complex blueprints and ASME specs to assemble pressure vessel components.
• Lay out, align, and tack-weld parts with calipers, squares, and levels.
• Prepare nozzles, flanges, and attachments with tight tolerances.
• Collaborate with welders, inspectors, and engineers to meet ASME and customer requirements.
• Perform fit-up inspections and adjust to maintain dimensional accuracy and weld quality.
• Operate fabrication equipment safely, including cranes, grinders, and torches.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
