Job summary

7Th Sky Tech is seeking a highly skilled Senior Firmware / DevOps Engineer in Palo Alto. The role focuses on embedded firmware development, Linux-based systems, CI/CD automation, and DevOps practices to support hardware, software, QA, and cloud teams.

You will build and maintain automated pipelines, improve engineering workflows, and mentor junior engineers while collaborating across hardware, firmware, software, QA, and DevOps to deliver reliable firmware and smooth releases.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Firmware/Embedded Systems and DevOps.
• Strong programming skills in C/C++.
• Experience with Embedded Linux and/or RTOS.
• Strong knowledge of Git and software development workflows.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD and automation.
• Experience with Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or equivalent tools.
• Good knowledge of Linux, Python, and Bash scripting.
• Experience with Docker/containerized development environments.
• Understanding of embedded communication protocols (UART, SPI, I2C, CAN, USB, TCP/IP).
• Experience with debugging tools, logs, crash analysis, and system-level troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Firmware / DevOps Engineer to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in embedded firmware development, Linux-based systems, CI/CD automation, and DevOps practices.

You will be responsible for developing and maintaining reliable firmware, building automated development and deployment pipelines, improving engineering workflows, and collaborating closely with hardware, software, QA, and cloud teams.
