Eagle Fire Inc. in the Southeast seeks a Fire Alarm Technician: Team Lead to guide a small crew, mentor apprentices, and ensure high-quality workmanship on commercial fire alarm projects across Tennessee and nearby states.

The ideal candidate has leadership experience, understands NFPA 72, and is prepared for ongoing manufacturer certifications and training to advance within a respected life-safety organization.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience leading or mentoring a crew is required.
  • Ability to work independently, make sound field decisions, and hold a team to schedule and quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a crew of technicians and apprentices, setting workmanship and safety standards.
  • Perform installation, programming, troubleshooting, inspection, testing, repair, and commissioning of commercial fire alarm systems (training provided).
  • Read and interpret blueprints, riser diagrams, specifications, and sequence of operations.
  • Ensure work complies with NFPA 72, local AHJ requirements, manufacturer guidelines, and company procedures.
  • Coordinate inspections and service schedules with customers and Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs).
  • Document deficiencies, repairs, inspections, and service activities accurately.

The Fire Alarm Technician: Team Lead

This role is first and foremost a leadership position: the ideal candidate has a proven track record of leading, mentoring, and developing a small team. Fire alarm experience is a plus, but candidates from adjacent technical trades — including data/structured cabling, low voltage, and AV, with strong leadership experience will be considered and trained up on fire alarm systems, codes, and manufacturer platforms.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Lead and mentor a crew of technicians and apprentices, setting the standard for workmanship, professionalism, and safety
  • Perform installation, programming, troubleshooting, inspection, testing, repair, and commissioning of commercial fire alarm systems (training provided as needed)
  • Read and interpret blueprints, riser diagrams, specifications, and sequence of operations
  • Ensure work is completed in accordance with NFPA 72, local AHJ requirements, manufacturer guidelines, and Company procedures
  • Coordinate inspections and service schedules directly with customers and Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs)
  • Document deficiencies, repairs, inspections, and service activities accurately and thoroughly
  • Communicate system issues, recommended repairs, and project updates to customers and internal management teams
  • Assist with project turnover, system commissioning, and customer demonstrations
  • Support emergency service calls and after-hours response as required
  • Maintain required certifications, licenses, and continuing education
  • Promote a safe work environment and comply with all Company safety policies and procedures
  • Adhere to all Company Standards and Procedures, including the Controlled Substances and Alcohol Standard
Required Qualifications & Certifications
Leadership (Priority Requirement)
  • Demonstrated experience leading, supervising, or mentoring a crew or team is required
  • Ability to work independently, make sound field decisions, and hold a team accountable to schedule and quality standards
Technical Background
  • 1-3 years of hands-on fire alarm or related technical experience preferred but not required
  • Candidates with backgrounds in data/structured cabling, low voltage, or AV systems will be considered ,fire alarm-specific training will be provided
  • General familiarity with NFPA 72, NEC, IBC, and local fire codes is a plus
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, riser diagrams, and technical specifications
Certifications
  • NICET Level I or II in Fire Alarm Systems preferred, not required
  • Manufacturer certifications (EST3, EST4, or equivalent) a plus, not required
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
  • Ability to lift and carry equipment up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to work from ladders, lifts, and elevated platforms
  • Ability to work in commercial, industrial, and construction environments
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, climbing, and reaching
  • Occasional overnight travel may be required depending on project location
