Job summary

Eagle Fire Inc. is seeking a Fire Alarm Service Technician to test, repair, and inspect fire detection systems in Savannah, GA, and surrounding areas. The role requires a high school diploma or GED, at least two years in fire protection, and Level II NICET certification (or ability to obtain within 18 months).

Based in Charlotte, NC with travel to client sites, you will install, test, and service systems while providing excellent customer service and maintaining safety and company standards.

Qualifications

  • Two years of experience in fire protection systems.
  • Minimum Level II NICET certification or ability to obtain it within 18 months.
  • Ability to meet physical requirements including lifting up to 100 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Performs installation, programming, repair, testing, and inspection of fire detection and signaling systems on a scheduled basis.
  • Provides exceptional service to both internal and external customers.
  • Schedules inspections with customers as required.
  • Provides documentation of inspections for records and authorities.
  • Communicates discrepancies and necessary repairs to the company and customer.
  • Follows up to ensure suggested repairs are performed.
  • Markets EFI services to existing and potential customers.
  • Trains Technician Trainees as assigned.
  • Commits to work until obligations are met, may require overtime.
  • Uses authority to ensure successful transactions and satisfy customers.
  • Performs administrative duties such as timesheets and reports.
  • Completes continuing education to maintain certifications.

Job Description

The Fire Alarm Service Technician tests, repairs, and inspects fire detection systems. He or she must provide exceptional service to both internal and external customers.

The ideal candidate for this position has a high school diploma or GED, a minimum of two years of experience in fire protection systems, and has a minimum of Level II NICET certification (or can obtain Level II certification within the first eighteen months of employment). An equivalent combination of education/training and experience will be considered. He or she must meet the physical requirements specified in the Qualifications section. Effective oral and written skills, good time management and customer service skills, and professional dress, speech, and behavior are all required for this position. This position is based in Charlotte, NC, with travel to client sites required.

Responsibilities
  • Performs installation, programming, repair, testing, and inspection of fire detection and signaling systems on a scheduled basis
  • Completes all services following manufacturer instructions, related codes/standards, and Company policies and procedures
  • Schedules inspections with customers as required
  • Provides documentation of inspections for Company records, customer records, authorities with jurisdiction, and any other entity required
  • Communicates discrepancies, necessary system repairs, and other important issues to the Company and the customer
  • Follows up to ensure that suggested repairs to systems are performed
  • Markets EFI services to existing and potential customers
  • Trains Technician Trainees as assigned
  • Commits to work until obligations are met, which may result in overtime
  • Uses authority and makes decisions and to ensure successful transactions and satisfy customers
  • Handles each transaction in a way that positively spreads our Company's reputation
  • Performs administrative duties as necessary, i.e., completing timesheets, time and material reports, and any other reports required
  • Completes continuing education necessary to maintain current certifications and/or licenses as required for position
  • Adheres to ALL Company Standards and Procedures, including the Controlled Substances and Alcohol Standard
  • Works safely using good judgment and by following all Company safety policies and work procedures and uses authority to stop an unsafe act
  • Performs other related duties as required
Qualifications
  • Education, experience, and certification as specified in the job description (or equivalent combination)
  • Exhibits characteristics consistent with encouraging Team concept
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
  • Able to speak, read, and write English fluently
  • Has practical knowledge of fire protection codes and standards
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Self-starter with the ability to work alone

  • Valid drivers license and acceptable driving record
  • Able to handle multiple projects and identify priorities

  • Able to lift and move objects weighing up to 100 pounds, work from heights above 10 feet, and work in confined areas
  • Able to stand for long periods of time and to lift, crouch, reach, handle, push, and pull
  • Able to drive a vehicle
  • Able to travel and stay out of town as needed
  • Able to operate and efficiently use measuring instruments and gauges and assorted industry related devices
  • Able to work in extremely cold and extremely hot temperatures
  • Able to work while exposed to loud sounds and noise levels
