Jobgether is seeking a finance-focused professional to support federal financial reporting, GL adherence, and asset accounting. You will map GL impacts of transactions, maintain roll forwards, and design material-in-transit reporting to ensure asset visibility during movement.
You will also work with OM&S assets, build dashboards with Power BI/Tableau, and drive data-driven improvements in reporting. This remote role offers full-time work with exposure to DoD financial modernization initiatives.
- Prepare and support financial reporting activities, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and alignment with general ledger transactions and financial records.
- Analyze financial transactions from end to end, identifying and documenting their general ledger impacts, including debit and credit postings across relevant accounts.
- Develop, maintain, and reconcile account roll forwards, tracking beginning balances, transaction activity, and ending balances while investigating and resolving discrepancies.
- Design and implement a material-in-transit reporting solution by connecting shipment records with receipt information to ensure accurate reporting of assets throughout their movement.
- Support asset management and property accounting activities by tracking operating materials and supplies (OM&S) and other government assets throughout their lifecycle, from shipment and receipt to ownership verification and financial reporting.
- Develop recurring monitoring metrics based on material ownership data to support ownership assertions and strengthen financial controls.
- Document accounting processes, data sources, reporting methodologies, and transaction logic to ensure transparency, consistency, and audit readiness.
- Collaborate with joint venture colleagues and program stakeholders to identify data gaps, investigate reconciliation issues, recommend corrective actions, and improve reporting processes.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, Business Administration, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Data Science, or a closely related discipline. A master's degree in one of these fields may substitute for a bachelor's degree in an unrelated field. Alternatively, an active and current CPA, CIA, CISA, CGFM, CDFM, PMP, SAFe, or ITIL certification may satisfy the education requirement.
- At least 4 years of federal financial management experience, with relevant commercial-sector experience also considered.
- Strong hands-on general ledger experience, including journal entry preparation, debit and credit applications, and understanding how transactions flow through financial accounts.
- Demonstrated ability to map the complete general ledger impact of financial transactions and develop, maintain, and reconcile account roll forwards.
- Experience in asset management or property accounting, including tracking assets, monitoring ownership, and reconciling asset records with financial statements.
- Advanced Excel and data analysis skills, with the ability to work confidently with large transactional datasets and identify discrepancies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, particularly when tracing information across financial, shipment, receipt, and ownership records.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain accounting processes and financial impacts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- High attention to detail, sound organizational skills, and the ability to produce accurate, well-documented, audit-ready deliverables.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
Preferred qualifications:
- Active CPA, CGFM, or CDFM certification.
- Federal or Department of Defense (DoD) financial management experience, particularly in general ledger management, financial reconciliations, flux analysis, asset accounting, or financial statement preparation.
- Experience with audit readiness, audit remediation, and Financial Improvement and Audit Readiness (FIAR) initiatives, including support for management assertions.
- Familiarity with inventory, property, and Operating Materials and Supplies (OM&S) accounting, including material-in-transit reporting.
- Knowledge of financial statement assertions, particularly existence, completeness, and rights and ownership.
- Experience with Army financial and logistics systems, such as GFEBS or GCSS-Army, and the United States Standard General Ledger (USSGL).
- Experience developing recurring financial metrics, dashboards, or monitoring controls using Power BI, Tableau, SQL, or similar analytical tools.
- Fully remote work arrangement, offering flexibility to work from home.
- Full-time employment opportunity.
- Opportunity to contribute to a significant federal financial management and government modernization program.
- Exposure to complex financial reporting, general ledger processes, and asset management initiatives.
- Professional development through collaboration with experienced financial management and program stakeholders.
- Opportunity to strengthen expertise in federal accounting, audit readiness, financial reconciliation, and data-driven reporting.
