  • Oversee the development, implementation, and monitoring of Corrective Action Plans (CAPs), ensuring that remediation activities are completed effectively and within established deadlines.
  • Direct root cause analyses of audit findings, evaluate existing financial processes, and develop sustainable remediation strategies to strengthen internal controls and financial reporting.
  • Manage audit-related activities, including Prepared By Client (PBC) requests, auditor sampling, walkthroughs, documentation, and financial data requests.
  • Assess federal accounting practices, financial reporting procedures, and internal control frameworks to identify weaknesses, evaluate compliance, and recommend improvements.

  • Monitor remediation progress and ensure that corrective actions align with applicable federal requirements, accounting standards, and organizational objectives.
Requirements

  • Familiarity with DoD financial management systems, particularly General Fund Enterprise Business System (GFEBS) and Corps of Engineers Financial Management System (CEFMS).
  • Experience advising senior government leadership, coordinating with external auditors, and managing complex audit deliverables and stakeholder relationships.
  • Strong analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex financial information and develop practical remediation strategies.
  • Proven leadership and project management capabilities, including the ability to coordinate cross-functional teams, manage competing priorities, and deliver results within demanding timelines.
