Job Description

THE IMPACT YOU WILL MAKE

This Sr. Financial Engineer position reports to the Senior Director responsible for Single-Family / Multi-Family Capital Markets Oversight. The team is part of the broader Market and Liquidity Risk Management division within Enterprise Risk Management. This role is responsible for supporting the oversight of capital markets facing transactions, including trading activity, risk management, and performance of the Single-Family and Multifamily businesses. Oversight activities include identifying, assessing, mitigating, and monitoring risk exposures, including interest rate and spread risk. The team partners with the company's modeling and analytics resources to develop and monitor methodologies, models, and risk metrics to measure market risk exposures. The successful candidate must demonstrate strong quantitative, analytical, and technical skills and have familiarity with financial institution balance sheet risk management.

Minimum Required Experiences

THE EXPERIENCE YOU BRING TO THE TEAM

  • At least 2 years of experience or more in financial markets, portfolio management, market risk analytics, and/or advanced education demonstrating quantitative, analytical, and technical skills (financial engineering, modeling, risk measurement).

Desired Experiences

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent, preferably in STEM or a related field.
  • Master’s degree or higher is preferred.
  • At least 2 years of experience or more in financial markets, portfolio management, market risk analytics, and/or advanced education demonstrating quantitative, analytical, and technical skills (financial engineering, modeling, risk measurement).
  • Familiarity with the mortgage industry and risk analytics.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate complex topics across different organizational levels.

Employees are encouraged to work onsite regularly at their designated office location, with in-office cadence determined by the manager. Proximity within a reasonable commute is preferred unless the role is noted as open to remote.
