Job summary

RR Donnelley is seeking a Finance Technician in Warrenville, IL. You will develop, interpret and implement financial concepts for planning, forecasting, modeling, and internal controls.

You will mentor junior analysts and lead in coordinating accounting matters across departments, with a focus on improving efficiency and cost controls.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in discipline related to function of work, preferred.
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience, required.
  • Ability to analyze complex problems and identify critical elements.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to mentor junior staff.
  • Proficient budgeting, cash management, forecasting and modeling.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares and analyzes income and balance sheet statements and reports.
  • Analyzes financial reports and recommends reserves, assets, expenditures, and revenues.
  • Performs complex financial analysis to evaluate operating results.
  • Leads cost improvement initiatives and product line profitability analysis.
  • Acts as SME for RR Donnelley finance practices at the local facility.
  • Mentors junior analysts in use of tools and systems.

Job Description

Develop, interpret and implement financial concepts for financial planning, forecasting, modeling, and internal controls. Perform in-depth, complex technical analysis to determine present and future financial performance. Gather, analyze, prepare and summarize recommendations for financial plans, acquisition activity, trended future requirements, and operating forecasts. Perform economic research and studies in the areas of rates of return, depreciation/amortization, working capital requirements, investment opportunities, investment performance, and impact of governmental and industry requirements. Act as a mentor to the junior-level analysts.

Responsibilities:
  • Prepares and analyzes income and balance sheet statements, consolidated statements, and various other accounting statements and reports
  • Analyzes financial reports, making studies or recommendations relative to the accounting for reserves, assets, expenditures, revenues, etc.
  • Performs complex financial analysis. Analyze and evaluate the company's operating results and financial position.
  • Analyze options for company improvement on expenses. Prepare product line profitability analysis.
  • Leads in the coordination of accounting matters with other departments, locations, and plant
  • Serves as a resource for management in effecting efficiency and cost improvements
  • Serves as Subject Matter Expert for the local facility in the application of RR Donnelley finance practices
  • Functions as the team lead within the department and on inter-departmental task forces
  • Identifies and frequently implements ideas or practices for improved efficiency and/or accuracy
  • Performs other related duties and participates in special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in discipline related to function of work, preferred
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience, required
  • Able to apply broad work experience and knowledge when analyzing complex problems.
  • Must be able consistently to identify critical elements, variables, and alternatives to develop solutions
  • Must be able to organize/prioritize existing resources and incorporate new information, as needed, to implement the most effective solutions
  • Able to communicate clearly and courteously with those who need to know about decisions/actions/problems
  • Excellent technical knowledge of budgeting, cash management, and financial analysis processes, including forecasting and financial modeling
  • Must be able to work with senior-level management throughout the company to analyze financial situations and make recommendations
  • Able to apply excellent functional computer knowledge in utilizing Microsoft Windows, MAC, or other technical tools in completing assignments
  • Able to apply expertise in all the tools or applications used to complete work assignments.
  • Able to mentor junior-level team members in the use of tools and/or systems in the position
  • Requires excellent communication skills with the ability to state messages in a clear manner by using language that is easy for others to understand
  • Able to explain program policies and procedures in language that is understood by others.
  • Must be able to modify communication style both formal and informal to match the appropriate level of the audience targeted
  • Requires a strong understanding of the impact of a message on the organization or customer
Additional Information

RRD's current salary range for this role is $73,500 to $116,000 / year. The salary range may be adjusted based on the applicable geographic location of the hired employee, and the range may change in the future. At RRD, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions may vary based upon, but not limited to education, skills, experience, proficiency, performance, shift and location. Depending on the role, in addition to base salary, the total compensation package may also include participation in a bonus, commission or incentive program.
