Talking Stick Resort in Scottsdale, AZ seeks a Senior Financial Analyst to drive financial planning, analysis, and control. You will collaborate with management to interpret complex data, develop forecasts, and deliver actionable insights for strategic decisions.

Ideal candidates have a Finance degree, 3–5 years as an analyst, and comfort with SQL, Power BI, Excel, and other BI tools. Hospitality or gaming experience is preferred, with strong communication and detail orientation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance required; MBA preferred.
  • 3–5 years’ experience as a financial analyst; hospitality or gaming experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates with management to gather, analyze, and prepare financial plans, forecasts, and recommendations.
  • Assist in annual forecasting and budgeting processes.
  • Prepare analytical reports including ratio analysis and month-end metrics.
  • Analyze financial information to identify trends and improve performance.
  • Research economic data and reports on depreciation, cash flow, and profitability.
  • Analyze contracts and financial obligations to ensure favorable terms.
  • Support management in developing assumptions and evaluating business volumes.
  • Develop decision models and reporting for informed decision making.
  • Collaborate with managers to identify opportunities and risks.

Summary

Develops, interprets, and implements complex financial and accounting concepts, or techniques for financial planning and control.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Coordinates with all levels of management to gather, analyze, summarize and prepare recommendations regarding financial plans, acquisition activity, new business planning, trended future requirements and operating forecasts.
  • Assists in the annual development of the forecasting and budgeting process and other business initiatives.
  • Prepares a standard set of analytical reports, including ratio analysis, key metrics at month-end.
  • Analyzes financial information to determine present and future financial performance and identifies trends and recommends improvements accordingly.
  • Researches and prepares economic and statistical reports on subjects such as rate of return, depreciation, cash flow, profit margins, etc.
  • Performs analysis on events and promotions for management.
  • Analyzes contracts or other financial obligations of the casino to ensure favorable agreement terms.
  • Assists management in developing assumptions regarding the volumes of business that could be expected under the current business plan and under alternative strategies.
  • Develop decision models and reporting to help with decision making.
  • Partner with all levels of management on key business drivers to identify potential opportunities and risk.
  • Conducts ad hoc, cost/benefit analysis and/or breakeven analysis for various projects assigned.
  • Conforms with and abides by all regulations, policies, work procedures, and instruction.
  • Conforms to all safety rules and uses all appropriate equipment.
  • Promotes positive team member relations.
Education And/or Experience

Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in Finance is required; MBA is a plus. 3 to 5 years’ experience in a financial analyst capacity; hospitality or gaming experience preferred.

Computer Skills

CPA/CMA/CAP/CFA preferred but not required.

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have strong knowledge of accounting software; advance skills with Microsoft Office Applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), financial modeling, and business intelligence reporting tools (Power BI). Ability to write queries using standard tools to extract data from relational (SQL) databases.

Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands and fingers to handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is occasionally exposed to secondary smoke. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
