Job summary

Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) seeks a Finance Analyst to join the Global Operations & Quality (GOQ) Finance team. The role focuses on partnering with operations, forecasting, reporting, and controllership across manufacturing, delivering insights and improving processes to support executive decision‑making.

You will manage manufacturing spend, capex reporting, and gross margin analysis while building strong partnerships with GOQ leaders and ensuring financial controls and timely close cycles.

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and data analysis capabilities.

THE ROLE

AMD is seeking a highly motivated Finance Analyst to join the Global Operations & Quality (GOQ) Finance team. This role supports business partnership, financial planning, forecasting, reporting, and controllership activities across manufacturing operations.

The successful candidate will partner closely with Global Operations, Corporate Finance, Accounting, Treasury, and business leaders to deliver financial insights, improve processes, and support executive decision‑making.

This position plays a key role in managing manufacturing spend, capital expenditure reporting, forecast consolidation, and financial analysis supporting AMD's operational and gross margin objectives.

THE PERSON

The successful candidate will deliver timely and accurate forecasts, provide high-quality financial analysis to support business decisions, and improve reporting efficiency through automation and process enhancements. They will build strong partnerships with GOQ operational leaders while ensuring effective execution of financial controls, close activities, and management reporting.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead monthly and quarterly financial close activities for assigned functional areas.
  • Prepare and consolidate forecasts, budgets, and long‑range planning assumptions.
  • Support capital expenditure planning, tracking, reporting, and variance analysis.
  • Analyze departmental spending and provide actionable insights to business partners.
  • Perform financial modeling and scenario analysis to support operational decision‑making.
  • Support COGS analysis, cost modeling, and gross margin reporting.
  • Consolidate operational forecasts and financial metrics across multiple organizations.
  • Develop and maintain automated reporting solutions using Power BI, SAP, Excel, and other analytics tools.
  • Partner with Accounting and Controllership teams to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with internal controls.
  • Drive process improvements and automation initiatives to improve efficiency and reporting accuracy.
  • Prepare executive‑level presentations and management reporting packages.
  • Support ad hoc financial analyses and special projects for senior leadership.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Demonstrated, progressive FP&A, finance, or accounting experience.
  • Strong financial modeling and analytical skills.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Experience working with large datasets and financial reporting systems.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
  • MBA, CPA, CMA, or equivalent advanced certification a plus.
  • Experience with SAP, S/4HANA, Power BI, Snowflake, or similar enterprise systems.
  • Semiconductor, manufacturing, operations finance, or supply chain finance experience.
  • Experience supporting budgeting, forecasting, capital planning, and close processes.
  • Proven track record of automation and process improvement initiatives.
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or related field.
