Job summary

CBRE Group, Inc. is seeking a Facilities Sr. Manager to oversee operations and maintenance for Healthcare/Hospital facilities in the Suffolk, VA and Richmond, VA areas. The role requires frequent on-site visits to hospital client sites and leadership of a technical team.

The ideal candidate has 5–8 years of relevant experience, strong budgeting and vendor management skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office. A valid driver’s license is required to support site visits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred with 5–8 years of relevant experience; combination of experience and education considered.
• Facility management certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide formal supervision to employees; track training and development; evaluate performance.
• Coordinate and manage team daily activities; set schedules and cross-train staff.
• Coordinate and manage facility repairs and maintenance with technicians, vendors, and contractors.
• Maintain positive client relationships and conduct meetings on unresolved facility issues.
• Prepare and manage large capital projects, operating budgets, and variance reports.
• Perform facility inspections and implement operational improvements in line with regulations.
• Create environmental health and safety procedures for facilities.
• Develop vendor relationships and oversee invoicing; approve purchase orders for parts, services, labor.
• Apply broad knowledge of the business and how disciplines integrate to achieve team goals.

About the Role:

As a CBRE Facilities Sr. Manager, you will manage many functions of building operations and maintenance for a portfolio of Healthcare/ Hospital facilities in the Suffolk, VA & Richmond, VA areas.

You'll need to leave an hour commute to Suffolk, VA & Richmond, VA for frequent visits to our hospital client sites.

What You'll Do:

• Provide formal supervision to employees. Track the training and development of staff. Conduct performance evaluations and coaching. Oversee the recruiting and hiring of new employees.
• Coordinate and manage the team's daily activities. Establish work schedules, assign tasks, and cross-train staff. Set and track staff and department deadlines. Mentor and coach as needed.
• Coordinate and manage facility repairs and maintenance by working with technicians, vendors, and contractors.
• Maintain positive client relationships and conduct meetings on unresolved facility issues.
• Prepare and manage large and high-profile capital projects, operating budgets, and variance reports.
• Perform facility inspections quality assurance following local, state, and federal regulations. Suggest and implement operational efficiencies, repairs, and upgrade opportunities.
• Create environmental health and safety procedures for facilities.
• Develop vendor relationships and oversee invoicing procedures. Review and approve purchase orders for the procurement of parts, services, and labor for projects.
• Apply a broad knowledge of the business, own discipline, and how own discipline integrates with others to achieve team and departmental objectives.
• Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE values. Influence others to adopt a different point of view while being guided by policies and departmental plans.
• Identify and solve technical and operational problems of complexity.
• Understand and recognize the broader impact across the department.
• Improve and change existing methods, processes, and standards within job discipline.

What You'll Need:

• Bachelor's Degree preferred with 5 - 8 years of relevant experience. In lieu of a degree, a combination of experience and education will be considered. Valid driver's license required. Facility Management certification preferred.
• Experience in the areas of staffing, selection, training, development, coaching, mentoring, measuring, appraising, and rewarding performance and retention is preferred.
• Ability to lead the exchange of sensitive, complicated, and difficult information, convey performance expectations and handle problems.
• Leadership skills to motivate the team to achieve broad operational targets with impacts on own job discipline, multiple job disciplines, and department.
• In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
• Extensive organizational skills and an advanced inquisitive mindset.
• Ability to calculate complicated figures such as percentages, fractions, and other financial-related calculations.
