About the Role
As a CBRE Sr Facilities Manager, you will manage many functions of building operations and maintenance for a facility, campus, or portfolio of buildings. This job is part of the Facilities Management functional area which focuses on all aspects of the operations of a set of assets, providing support to the Property Managers regarding all repairs and investment plans.
What You’ll Do
- Coordinate and manage site daily activities at 4 sites – Home office in Elgin, 1 in Winnetka, 1 in Downtown Chicago, 1 in Milwaukee, WI.
- Local travel approximately 50-60% (Mileage reimbursement if you choose to use your own vehicle or a rental car can be expensed).
- Create and manage the budget.
- Oversight, coordination and management of facility repairs and maintenance by working with technicians, vendors, and contractors.
- Maintain positive client relationships with C Suite and Executives as well as conduct meetings on unresolved facility issues.
- Prepare and manage moderate to mid-sized projects, operating budgets, and variance reports.
- Perform facility inspections quality assurance following local, state, and federal regulations. Suggest and implement operational efficiencies, repairs, and upgrade opportunities.
- Create environmental health and safety procedures for facilities.
- Develop vendor relationships and oversee invoicing procedures. Review and approve purchase orders for procurement of parts, services, and labor for projects.
- Apply a broad knowledge of the business and own discipline, and understand how it integrates with others to achieve team and departmental objectives.
- Lead by example and model behaviors consistent with CBRE RISE values. Influence others to adopt a different point of view while being guided by policies and departmental plans.
- Identify and solve technical and operational problems of complexity.
- Understand and recognize the broader impact across the department.
- Improve and change existing methods, processes, and standards within job discipline.
What You’ll Need
- Valid driver's license required.
- Facility Management certification preferred (FMP).
- Property Management background helpful.
- Strong soft skills/communication skills to interface with C-suite clients on-site.
- People management and creation and oversight of financials and budgets.
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred with 10+ years of relevant experience. In lieu of a degree, a combination of experience and education will be considered.
- Budget creation and analysis experience.
- Management of quarterly business review process.
- Experience in staffing, selection, training, development, coaching, mentoring, measuring, appraising, and rewarding performance and retention.
- Ability to lead the exchange of sensitive, complicated, and difficult information, convey performance expectations and handle problems.
- Leadership skills to motivate the team to achieve broad operational targets.
- In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
- Computer literacy; use of multiple systems such as Prism W/O system.
- Extensive organizational skills and an advanced inquisitive mindset.
- Intermediate math skills; ability to calculate percentages, fractions, and other financial-related calculations.
