Job summary

ECHO Consulting Group is seeking a Senior Facilities Engineer - Sterilization to lead analysis, design, and support for sterilization infrastructure at a clean medical device facility.

Role requires strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, and building automation, plus experience with clean rooms and commissioning. Based in Villalba, PR with 5–10% travel; Bachelor’s in Engineering required or Master’s with more experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 4+ years of Facility Mechanical/Electrical infrastructure or Master’s with 2+ years.
• Mechanical system knowledge across HVAC, electrical, building automation and plumbing.
• Experience with clean rooms, chiller plants, and compressed air facilities.
• Ability to read blueprints, shop drawings and schematics.
• Experience with building automation, temperature control, monitoring and alarm systems.
• Tridium/Niagara or Siemens BAS experience.
• Facility commissioning experience.

Responsibilities

• Plans, designs and oversees reconfiguration, maintenance and alteration of facilities.
• Gathers data on specifications, restrictions, schedules and feasibility.
• Coordinates with architecture/engineering firms on design criteria and drawings.
• Prepares bid sheets and contracts for construction and facilities acquisition.
• Reviews design costs including equipment, installation, labor and materials.
• Inspects progress and commissioning to ensure conformance with plans.
• Travel to other sites 5-10% depending on project needs.

Summary of Role:

The Senior Facilities Engineer - Sterilization will be responsible for analysis, design, and support of all facility engineering related to the multi-year sterilization infrastructure projects. They will serve as the owners-rep engineer on a broad array of projects at a clean medical device manufacturing facility including HVAC, exhaust, chillers, boilers, dry compressed air, etc.

Responsibilities:

• Plans, designs and oversees the reconfiguration, maintenance, and alteration of equipment, machinery, buildings, structures, and other facilities

• Gathers and reviews data concerning facility or equipment specifications, company or government restrictions, required completion date, and construction feasibility

• Coordinates with architecture/engineering firms in developing design criteria and preparing layout and detail drawings

• Prepares bid sheets and contracts for construction and facilities acquisition

• Reviews and estimates design costs including equipment, installation, labor, materials, preparation, and other related costs

• Inspects or directs the inspection of construction, installation progress, and commissioning to ensure conformance to established drawings, specifications, and schedules

• Travel to other sites 5-10% depending on project needs

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree and 4+ years of Facility Mechanical infrastructure, Electrical Infrastructure, and Building Automation Systems experience OR Master’s Degree and 2+ years of experience

• Mechanical system knowledge (HVAC, electrical, building automation, plumbing systems)

• Experience supporting design/build of clean rooms, chiller plants, compressed air plants

• Ability to read and understand blueprints, shop drawings, and schematics

• Experience with integrated building solutions including temperature control, critical environment monitoring, power management and alarming, zoned lighting control and facility access control

• Tridium/Niagara or Siemens BAS experience

• Facility Commissioning experience
