Job summary

FITS is seeking an Engineering professional for facilities-related services across the Island and the US. The role focuses on design/build of critical infrastructure such as clean rooms, chiller plants, and utility systems, requiring a strong engineering foundation and practical field experience.

The ideal candidate will hold a bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 4+ years in Medical Devices or Pharmaceuticals, be bilingual in Spanish and English, and be willing to travel 5–10% for project

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical or Building Automation Systems) with 4+ years in Medical Devices or Pharmaceutical industries.
• Bilingual in Spanish & English.
• Day shift with possible other shifts as needed.
• Experience reading blueprints, shop drawings, and schematics.
• Experience with integrated building solutions including temperature control, critical environment monitoring, power management, alarming, lighting control and facility access control.
• Facility Commissioning experience.

Responsibilities

• Support design/build of clean rooms, chiller plants, compressed air plants.
• Plan, design and oversee reconfiguration, maintenance, and alteration of equipment, machinery, buildings, structures, and other facilities.
• Gather and review data concerning facility/equipment specifications, restrictions, completion dates, and construction feasibility.
• Coordinate with architecture/engineering firms to develop design criteria and drawings.
• Prepare bid sheets and contracts for construction and facilities acquisition.
• Review and estimate design costs including equipment, installation, labor, materials, etc.
• Inspect or direct inspections of construction, installation progress, and commissioning to ensure conformance.
• Travel to other sites 5–10% depending on project needs.

• Bilingual (Spanish & English).

  • Ability to read and understand blueprints, shop drawings, and schematics
  • Experience with integrated building solutions including temperature control, critical environment monitoring, power management and alarming, zoned lighting control and facility access control
  • Tridium/Niagara or Siemens BAS experience
  • Facility Commissioning experience

• Inspects or directs the inspection of construction, installation progress, and commissioning to ensure conformance to established drawings, specifications, and schedules
• Travel to other sites 5-10% depending on project needs.
