Job summary

Planet Pharma is seeking a Senior Facilities Engineer - Sterilization to lead analysis, design, and support for multi-year sterilization infrastructure projects at the North Haven, CT campus. You will act as owners-rep engineer across HVAC, exhaust, chillers, boilers, dry compressed air, and related systems.

Responsibilities include planning, design oversight, cost estimates, and coordination with architecture/engineering firms, with 5–10% travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 4+ years of Facility Mechanical or Electrical infrastructure experience.
• Master’s degree and 2+ years of relevant experience acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Plans, designs and oversees reconfiguration and maintenance of facilities and equipment.
• Reviews data on facility specs, restrictions, timelines and construction feasibility.
• Coordinates with architecture/engineering firms on design criteria and drawings.
• Prepares bid sheets and contracts for construction and facilities acquisition.
• Estimates design costs including equipment, installation, labor and materials.
• Inspects construction, installation progress and commissioning per drawings.
• Travel to other sites 5-10% as needed.

They will serve as the owners-rep engineer on a broad array of projects at a clean medical device manufacturing facility including HVAC, exhaust, chillers, boilers, dry compressed air, etc.

The Senior Facilities Engineer - Sterilization will be responsible for analysis, design, and support of all facility engineering related to the multi-year sterilization infrastructure projects at the North Haven, CT campus. They will serve as the owners-rep engineer on a broad array of projects at a clean medical device manufacturing facility including HVAC, exhaust, chillers, boilers, dry compressed air, etc.

Position Responsibilities – A Day In The Life

• Plans, designs and oversees the reconfiguration, maintenance, and alteration of equipment, machinery, buildings, structures, and other facilities
• Gathers and reviews data concerning facility or equipment specifications, company or government restrictions, required completion date, and construction feasibility
• Coordinates with architecture/engineering firms in developing design criteria and preparing layout and detail drawings
• Prepares bid sheets and contracts for construction and facilities acquisition
• Reviews and estimates design costs including equipment, installation, labor, materials, preparation, and other related costs
• Inspects or directs the inspection of construction, installation progress, and commissioning to ensure conformance to established drawings, specifications, and schedules
• Travel to other sites 5-10% depending on project needs

Must Haves

• Bachelor’s Degree and 4+ years of Facility Mechanical infrastructure, Electrical Infrastructure, and Building Automation Systems experience OR Master’s Degree and 2+ years of experience

Nice to Have

Mechanical system knowledge (HVAC, electrical, building automation, plumbing systems)

• Experience supporting design/build of clean rooms, chiller plants, compressed air plants
• Ability to read and understand blueprints, shop drawings, and schematics
• Experience with integrated building solutions including temperature control, critical environment monitoring, power management and alarming, zoned lighting control and facility access control
• Tridium/Niagara or Siemens BAS experience
• Facility Commissioning experience
