Job summary

Lumentum is seeking a seasoned production planner to translate customer demand into daily/weekly wafer start plans in San Jose, CA. You will own the master production schedule and work closely with manufacturing, engineering, and supply teams to keep the fab running smoothly.

Key duties include capacity modeling, WIP management, and driving continuous improvements to cut cycle times and improve on-time delivery. A strong background in semiconductor manufacturing and Excel proficiency is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in industrial engineering, SCM, or operations management.
• 6+ years of experience in factory planning, scheduling, or SCM.
• Knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing and SCM principles.
• Experience with production planning, capacity modeling, demand forecasting, WIP management, or inventory planning.
• Proficiency in Excel for data management and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Create and manage the master production schedule translating demand into daily/weekly wafer starts.
• Monitor WIP flow in fab to meet output plan and customer demand.
• Develop and improve the fab capacity model using demand, product mix, and constraints.
• Identify and resolve production bottlenecks to maximize throughput and reduce cycle time.
• Collaborate with marketing, sales, production, and engineering to align plans.
• Coordinate with purchasing to maintain optimal stock levels.
• Track KPIs such as OTD, cycle time, inventory turnover.
• Drive continuous improvement to enhance planning efficiency and productivity.

Responsibilities

• Create and manage the master production schedule, translating the customer demand into specific daily and weekly wafer start plan
• Monitor and track the work-in-progress (WIP) flow within the fab, ensuing efficient movement of wafer lots to meet output plan and fulfil customer demand requirement
• Develop, maintain, and improve the fab capacity model, using current demand, product mix, process routings, equipment capacity, operating assumptions, and other relevant constraints.
• Identify, analyze, and resolve production bottlenecks related to equipment performance, material availability, or labor resources to maximize fab throughput and reduce cycle time
• Collaborate with marketing, sales, production, and engineering teams to align production plan, manage demand/order changes, and schedule interruptions
• Coordinate with purchasing teams to maintain optimal stock levels and prevent shortages or excesses of inventory materials
• Track key performance indicators (KPIs), such as on-time delivery (OTD), cycle time, inventory and inventory turn
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance planning efficiency, optimize processes, and increase productivity.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in industrial engineering, supply chain management, operations management, or related fields
• > 6 years of work experience in factory planning, production scheduling, or supply chain management
• Knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing processes and supply chain principles
• Experience with production planning, capacity modeling, demand forecasting, WIP management, or inventory planning.
• Proficiency in Excel for data management, analysis and reporting
• Experience with Oracle systems
• Familiarity with fab scheduling, wafer lot dispatch and cycle-time management is preferred
• Programming skills are preferred

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Able to work in a fast-paced, dynamic, and multi-disciplinary environment

Pay Range:

P60-USA-1 :$112,050.00 - $160,050.00
