Job summary

B&B Concrete is seeking an experienced Water/Wastewater Estimator to pursue and plan water infrastructure projects from bid through handoff. You will develop accurate estimates and partner with operations and project management to set up projects for success.

The role requires knowledge of self-performed work, construction means and sequencing, and strong cost analysis. Proficiency with HCSS, Primavera P6, Bluebeam, and On-Screen Takeoff is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
• Experience estimating water/wastewater construction projects.
• Experience with self-performed structural concrete or heavy civil work.
• Strong knowledge of construction means, methods, sequencing, and productivity.
• Ability to read and interpret plans, specs, and contract documents.
• Strong takeoff, cost analysis, and scope-review skills.
• Experience with HCSS, Primavera P6, Bluebeam, and On-Screen Takeoff preferred.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop estimates for water and wastewater facilities, pumps, piping, and related infrastructure.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and price self-performed labor, materials, and equipment.
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier proposals to ensure scope coverage.
• Evaluate phasing, staging, logistics, constructability, and sequencing.
• Develop preliminary schedules to support estimating efforts.

Job description

We are looking for an experiencedWater/Wastewater Estimator to join our team. You'll play a key role in pursuing and planning water and wastewater infrastructure projects, developing accurate, competitive estimates and partnering closely with operations and project management from bid through project handoff.

We're looking for someone who understands water/wastewater construction and self-performed work and can evaluate scope, constructability, risk, and cost—not just perform takeoffs.

What You'll Do:

• Develop estimates for water and wastewater treatment facilities, pump stations, process piping, and related infrastructure.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and develop pricing for self-performed labor, materials, and equipment.
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier proposals and ensure scope coverage.
• Evaluate project phasing, staging, logistics, constructability, and sequencing.
• Develop preliminary schedules to support estimating efforts.
• Identify project risks, opportunities, value-engineering ideas, and cost-saving strategies.
• Participate in bid reviews with operations and project management.
• Prepare detailed project budgets and lead estimating-to-project-team handoffs.
• Support subcontractor and supplier buyout following award.
• Partner with operations and project teams to help set projects up for successful execution.

What You Bring:
