Job summary

B is seeking an experienced Water/Wastewater Estimator to join our team, focusing on pursuing and planning water and wastewater infrastructure projects, developing accurate estimates and partnering with operations from bid through project handoff.

The ideal candidate understands water/wastewater construction and self-performed work, can evaluate scope, constructability, risk, and cost, and will use tools such as HCSS, Primavera P6, Bluebeam, and On-Screen Takeoff to support estimating.

Qualifications

• Experience estimating water and wastewater construction projects.
• Experience with self-performed structural concrete and/or heavy civil construction.
• Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and contract documents.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Strong quantity takeoff, cost analysis, and scope review skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop estimates for water and wastewater facilities, pump stations, process piping, and related infrastructure.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and develop pricing for self-performed labor, materials, and equipment.
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier proposals and ensure scope coverage.
• Evaluate project phasing, staging, logistics, constructability, and sequencing.
• Develop preliminary schedules to support estimating efforts.
• Identify project risks, opportunities, value-engineering ideas, and cost-saving strategies.
• Participate in bid reviews with operations and project management.
• Prepare detailed project budgets and lead estimating-to-project-team handoffs.
• Support subcontractor and supplier buyout following award.
• Partner with operations and project teams to help set projects up for successful execution.
