Job summary

B in Orlando, FL is seeking an experienced Water/Wastewater Estimator to pursue and plan water and wastewater infrastructure projects, developing accurate estimates and partnering with operations and project management from bid through handoff.

You will evaluate scope, constructability, risk, and cost, perform quantity takeoffs, price labor/materials/equipment, and support value-engineering ideas to drive competitive bids.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Experience estimating water and/or wastewater construction projects.
• Experience with self-performed structural concrete and heavy civil work.
• Ability to read and interpret plans, specs and contract documents.
• Strong cost analysis and takeoff skills with attention to scope.

Responsibilities

• Develop estimates for water and wastewater facilities, pump stations, piping and related infrastructure.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and pricing for self-performed labor, materials, and equipment.
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier proposals and ensure scope coverage.
• Evaluate phasing, staging, logistics, constructability and sequencing.
• Develop preliminary schedules to support estimating efforts.
• Identify risks, opportunities, value-engineering ideas and cost-saving strategies.
• Participate in bid reviews with operations and project management.
• Prepare detailed project budgets and lead handoffs to the project team.
• Support subcontractor and supplier buyout following award.
• Partner with operations and project teams to set projects up for successful execution.

You'll play a key role in pursuing and planning water and wastewater infrastructure projects, developing accurate, competitive estimates and partnering closely with operations and project management from bid through project handoff.

We're looking for someone who understands water/wastewater construction and self-performed work and can evaluate scope, constructability, risk, and cost—not just perform takeoffs.

What You'll Do:

What You Bring:

• Experience estimating water and/or wastewater construction projects.

• Strong understanding of construction means, methods, sequencing, and productivity.
• Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and contract documents.
• Strong quantity takeoff, cost analysis, and scope review skills.
• Experience with HCSS, Primavera P6, Bluebeam, and On-Screen Takeoff preferred.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
