Job summary

B&B Concrete Contractors is seeking an experienced Water/Wastewater Estimator to pursue and plan water and wastewater infrastructure projects from bid through handoff. You will develop accurate estimates, perform takeoffs, and partner closely with operations and project management.

You will evaluate scope, risk and cost beyond simple takeoffs and contribute to value-engineering ideas, schedules, and buyouts. Strong communication and plan-reading skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related field.
• Experience estimating water and wastewater construction projects.
• Experience with self-performed structural concrete and/or heavy civil construction.
• Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and contract documents.
• Strong quantity takeoff, cost analysis and scope review skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop estimates for water/wastewater facilities, pump stations and related infrastructure.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and pricing for labor, materials and equipment.
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier proposals.
• Evaluate phasing, staging, logistics, constructability and sequencing.
• Develop preliminary schedules to support estimating efforts.
• Identify risks, value-engineering ideas and cost-saving opportunities.
• Participate in bid reviews with operations and project management.
• Prepare detailed project budgets and handoffs to project teams.
• Support subcontractor and supplier buyout after award.
• Collaborate with operations to set projects up for successful execution.

We are looking for an experienced Water/Wastewater Estimator to join our team. You’ll play a key role in pursuing and planning water and wastewater infrastructure projects, developing accurate, competitive estimates and partnering closely with operations and project management from bid through project handoff.

We’re looking for someone who understands water/wastewater construction and self-performed work and can evaluate scope, constructability, risk, and cost—not just perform takeoffs.

What You’ll Do

• Develop estimates for water and wastewater treatment facilities, pump stations, process piping, and related infrastructure.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and develop pricing for self-performed labor, materials, and equipment.
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier proposals and ensure scope coverage.
• Evaluate project phasing, staging, logistics, constructability, and sequencing.
• Develop preliminary schedules to support estimating efforts.
• Identify project risks, opportunities, value-engineering ideas, and cost-saving strategies.
• Participate in bid reviews with operations and project management.
• Prepare detailed project budgets and lead estimating-to-project-team handoffs.
• Support subcontractor and supplier buyout following award.

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.
