Job summary

B&B Concrete Contractors in Charlotte, NC is seeking an experienced Water/Wastewater Estimator to join our team. You will pursue and plan water and wastewater infrastructure projects, develop accurate estimates, and collaborate with operations from bid through handoff.

You will analyze scope, constructability, risk, and cost, read plans and contracts, and support value engineering and budget development to ensure successful project execution.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• Experience estimating water and wastewater construction projects.
• Experience with self-performed structural concrete and heavy civil work.
• Strong understanding of means, methods, sequencing, and productivity.
• Ability to read and interpret plans, specs, and contracts.
• Strong quantity takeoff, cost analysis, and scope review skills.
• Experience with HCSS, Primavera P6, Bluebeam, and On-Screen Takeoff preferred.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop estimates for water and wastewater facilities and related infrastructure.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and pricing for self-performed labor, materials, and equipment.
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier proposals and ensure scope coverage.
• Evaluate project phasing, staging, logistics, and constructability.
• Develop preliminary schedules to support estimating efforts.
• Identify risks, opportunities, value-engineering ideas, and cost-saving options.
• Participate in bid reviews with operations and project management.
• Prepare detailed project budgets and hand off to the project team.
• Support subcontractor and supplier buyout after award.
• Partner with operations to set projects up for successful execution.

We are looking for an experienced Water/Wastewater Estimator to join our team. You’ll play a key role in pursuing and planning water and wastewater infrastructure projects, developing accurate, competitive estimates and partnering closely with operations and project management from bid through project handoff.

We’re looking for someone who understands water/wastewater construction and self-performed work and can evaluate scope, constructability, risk, and cost—not just perform takeoffs.

What You’ll Do

• Develop estimates for water and wastewater treatment facilities, pump stations, process piping, and related infrastructure.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and develop pricing for self-performed labor, materials, and equipment.
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier proposals and ensure scope coverage.

• Develop preliminary schedules to support estimating efforts.
