Job summary

Keeley Construction in Austin, TX is seeking a Senior Estimator for the Heavy Civil Group. The role leads estimates, coordinates bids, and develops trade takeoffs with internal pricing to win capital projects.

You will oversee subcontractor evaluations, manage cost data, and maintain high-level client relations while ensuring alignment with Keeley’s quality standards in a high-volume bidding environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field plus 5–7 years of relevant experience.
• Proficient with Outlook, Excel, and Word, along with estimating software.
• Experience with heavy civil construction projects, specifically water/wastewater treatment plants and process piping.
• Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with staff, vendors, and clients.
• Exceptional time management and customer relations skills.
• High attention to detail.
• Ability to assist with writing proposals and reports.

Responsibilities

• Drive and maintain all National Opportunities Reporting.
• Perform productivity analysis of cost estimates and data across projects.
• Negotiate with and engage in subcontract solicitation during bidding and maintain master subcontractor/vendor lists by trade.
• Compare and analyze competitive subcontractor and supplier bids.
• Exceed expectations with customer service and strategic insight.
• Maintain company quality standards with subcontractors and vendors in a high-volume bid environment.

• Drive and maintain all National Opportunities Reporting.
• Perform productivity analysis of cost estimates, comparisons of scope, quantities, and cost data between projects.
• Negotiate with and engage in subcontract solicitation during the bidding process and maintain master subcontractor/vendor lists by trade.
• Compare and analyze competitive subcontractor and supplier bids.
• Exceed expectations with excellent customer service, operational excellence, and strategic insight.
• Maintain company quality standards with subcontractors and vendors while performing in a high-volume bid environment.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field plus a minimum of 5-7 years of experience performing primary responsibilities listed above.
• Proficient with Outlook, Excel, and Word, along with estimating software.
• Demonstrated experience with heavy civil construction projects, specifically water/wastewater treatment plants and process piping.
• Ability to build and maintain a positive working relationship with staff, vendors, and clients.
