Job summary

Primoris Renewable Energy, within Primoris Services Corporation, is seeking a Sr. Equipment Supervisor to oversee maintenance, repair, and readiness of a diverse heavy equipment fleet for construction projects.

You will lead mechanics, technicians, and operators, implement preventive maintenance, and ensure uptime while maintaining safety and regulatory compliance. You will manage inventory, coordinate mobilization/demobilization, and work with project managers to optimize equipment usage and

Qualifications

  • Diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree or technical certification in heavy equipment repair, diesel mechanics, or related field preferred.
  • 7+ years progressive experience in heavy equipment maintenance/repair; at least 3 years in supervisory/lead role.
  • Experience diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems on varied construction equipment.
  • Strong understanding of OSHA regulations and best practices for equipment safety.
  • Proficiency using diagnostic tools and equipment management software.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
  • Valid driver’s license with clean record; CDL may be required.
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather and on construction sites.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and lead a team of equipment mechanics, technicians, and operators; provide guidance and evaluation.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor preventative maintenance programs for all equipment.
  • Diagnose complex mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues and coordinate repairs.
  • Manage equipment inventory of parts, tools, and supplies to minimize downtime.
  • Oversee equipment mobilization and demobilization to and from job sites; ensure proper loading and transport.
  • Maintain records of maintenance, repairs, inspections, and hours.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and environmental standards.
  • Collaborate with project managers to schedule usage and allocate resources.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost reductions in equipment management.
  • Assist in procurement of new equipment and assess specifications.

Job Overview:

Job Summary

The Sr. Equipment Supervisor at Primoris Services Corporation is responsible for overseeing the maintenance, repair, and operational readiness of a diverse fleet of heavy equipment and vehicles, ensuring maximum uptime and efficiency for construction and industrial projects.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and lead a team of equipment mechanics, technicians, and operators, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor preventative maintenance programs for all company-owned and leased equipment, including excavators, dozers, cranes, trucks, and other specialized machinery.
  • Diagnose complex mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on various types of heavy equipment and coordinate appropriate repairs.
  • Manage equipment inventory, including parts, tools, and supplies, and ensure adequate stock levels to minimize downtime.
  • Oversee equipment mobilization and demobilization to and from job sites, ensuring proper loading, securing, and transportation.
  • Maintain accurate records of all equipment maintenance, repairs, inspections, and operational hours.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, company policies, and environmental standards related to equipment operation and maintenance.
  • Collaborate with project managers and field superintendents to schedule equipment usage, allocate resources, and address equipment-related challenges.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost reductions in equipment management and maintenance.
  • Assist in the procurement of new equipment, assessing specifications and suitability for project needs.
Job Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree or technical certification in heavy equipment repair, diesel mechanics, or a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in heavy equipment maintenance and repair, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or lead role.
  • Demonstrated expertise in diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems on a wide range of construction equipment.
  • Strong understanding of OSHA regulations and best practices for equipment safety.
  • Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment management software.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; CDL may be required.
  • Ability to work in various outdoor weather conditions and on construction sites.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
