Qualifications

Responsibilities

Position Summary

As a Sr. Equipment Operator, you will play an essential role in supporting safe and efficient warehouse and distribution center operations. You will operate gas- and electric-powered forklifts to safely move, load, unload, stack, and transport materials, products, parts, and finished goods throughout the facility.

This role is responsible for supporting shipping and receiving operations, material handling, inventory accuracy, and warehouse organization while following all safety procedures and operational guidelines. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced warehouse environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment to safely move, load, unload, stack, and transport materials throughout the warehouse.
  • Load and unload incoming and outbound transportation vehicles, including raw materials, components, unfinished products, and finished goods.
  • Move materials and inventory between designated warehouse locations while maintaining safe and efficient product flow.
  • Perform required forklift and equipment safety inspections before operating equipment.
  • Follow all warehouse safety procedures, company policies, and applicable OSHA requirements.
  • Maintain accurate inventory by properly handling, storing, and tracking materials and products.
  • Identify and report inventory discrepancies, damaged materials, or other issues to the appropriate team members.
  • Maintain organized and safe work areas to support efficient warehouse and distribution center operations.
  • Assist with shipping, receiving, staging, replenishment, and other warehouse activities as needed.
  • Serve as a knowledgeable resource for less experienced team members and may provide training, guidance, or work direction.
  • Identify opportunities to improve warehouse processes, workflows, and material handling practices.
  • Exercise independent judgment when resolving non-routine operational issues and make recommendations to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Perform additional warehouse and material handling responsibilities based on business needs.
What You Bring to the Role
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; an associate degree or equivalent experience is preferred.
  • Forklift certification or the ability to obtain and maintain required forklift certification.
  • Demonstrated experience operating forklifts in a warehouse, distribution center, manufacturing, logistics, or material handling environment.
  • Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, material handling, shipping and receiving, and inventory processes.
  • Ability to safely operate gas- and/or electric-powered forklifts and other material handling equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to inventory accuracy and workplace safety.
  • Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and resolve operational issues.
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to provide guidance, training, or mentorship to less experienced team members.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced warehouse or distribution center environment.
Experience Requirements
  • Associate degree or equivalent experience with a minimum of 5 years of functional experience; OR
  • High school diploma or equivalent with a minimum of 8 years of functional experience, including at least 4 years of position-specific experience.

The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $43,800.00 - $70,100.00 per year.

The ranges above reflect the potential annual base pay across the U.S. for all roles; the applicable base pay range will depend on the candidate's primary work location, pay grade, and variable compensation plan. Individual base pay within each range depends on various factors, in addition to primary work location, such as complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills. Base pay ranges are reviewed and typically updated each year. Offers are made within the base pay range applicable at the time of hire. New hires starting base pay generally falls in the bottom half (between the minimum and midpoint) of a pay range.
