Job summary

Arkema is seeking a Senior Environmental Engineer for our Houston, TX facility. You will lead environmental compliance programs across air, water, wastewater, and waste management, driving sustainability initiatives and ensuring adherence to federal, state, and local regulations.

The role requires 5+ years of manufacturing environmental experience, strong regulatory knowledge, and proven project management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of environmental compliance experience in manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of EPA and Texas environmental regulations.
• Experience managing multi-media environmental programs.
• Excellent project management and communication skills.
• SAP and advanced Microsoft Office experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead environmental compliance programs across air, water, wastewater, and waste management systems
• Manage LDAR monitoring, flare testing, environmental reporting, permit compliance, and waste disposal activities
• Ensure compliance with EPA, TCEQ, OSHA, DOT, and local regulatory requirements
• Prepare and submit environmental permits, reports, and regulatory filings accurately and on time
• Provide technical guidance for plant projects, MOC, SOPs, and capital initiatives
• Deliver environmental training and compliance support to plant leadership and operations teams
• Track and report sustainability and environmental KPI metrics
• Build and maintain relationships with regulatory agencies and industry organizations

Arkema is seeking a Senior Environmental Engineer to support our Houston manufacturing facility. This high-visibility role is responsible for leading environmental compliance programs, driving sustainability initiatives, and ensuring adherence to federal, state, and local regulations while supporting safe and efficient plant operations.

What You'll Do

• Lead environmental compliance programs across air, water, wastewater, and waste management systems
• Manage LDAR monitoring, flare testing, environmental reporting, permit compliance, and waste disposal activities

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science, Chemistry, or related field
• 5+ years of environmental compliance experience in manufacturing (chemical manufacturing preferred)
• Strong knowledge of EPA, Texas environmental regulations, permitting, and reporting requirements
• Experience managing multi-media environmental programs (air, water, wastewater, and waste)
• Excellent project management, problem-solving, and communication skills
• SAP and advanced Microsoft Office experience are a plus
