Job summary

Valero is seeking a Sr Environmental Engineer to ensure the Ardmore Refinery complies with EPA rules and regulations. The role focuses on hazardous materials handling, waste disposal, and regulatory reporting.

Responsibilities include sampling, inspections, documentation, and enforcing corrective actions. This exempt, on-site position offers professional growth within a leading energy company.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or higher degree in Engineering or a related Science required.
• 5 years of Environmental Engineering or related refinery engineering experience required.
• Master’s or higher degree in Engineering preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the handling and disposal of hazardous materials and solid waste comply with EPA rules and regulations.
• Ensure Refinery compliance with RCRA, NESHAP, and EPA Air Quality Standards; follow DOT guidelines for training and shipping.
• Collect samples of products/waste as dictated by environmental programs.
• Complete reports for state and federal regulatory agencies and maintain documentation.
• Conduct weekly and monthly plant inspections to ensure regulatory compliance, including tank seal inspections.
• Oversee metal recycling and enforce corrective actions; monitor groundwater testing.

As a Sr Environmental Engineer you will ensure the Refinery complies with the Environmental Protection Agency’s rules and regulations.

• Ensure the handling and disposal of hazardous materials and solid waste are accomplished within Environmental Protection Agency’s rules and regulations.
• Ensure Refinery compliance with the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act, National Emissions Standard for Hazardous Air Pollutants, Air Quality Standards established by Environmental Protection Agency, and guidelines established by the Department of Transportation for training and shipping/handling products.
• Collect samples of various products/waste in the Refinery as dictated by the various environmental programs.
• Complete reports for state and federal Regulatory Agencies, and maintain the appropriate documentation.
• Conduct weekly and monthly Plant inspections to ensure compliance with all Regulatory Agencies, including tank seal inspections.
• Ensure metal in the refinery is recycled.
• Enforce all corrective actions and oversee testing related to ground water issues.
• Perform other duties as assigned

This position is salaried exempt status, which means you are not eligible for overtime pay.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

• Able and willing to work on-site, in-person at the Valero Ardmore Refinery, required.
• Bachelor’s or higher level degree in Engineering or a related Science required.
• 5 years of Environmental Engineering or related refinery engineering experience required.

• Master’s or higher level degree in Engineering preferred.
