What You Will Do

Enterprise Solution Architects (ESAs) are solution architects focusedon broad, cross cuttingEnterprise level initiatives. They work on identifying and designing holistic technology solutionsto enterprise grade business problems, working collaboratively across the organization and intandem with key sponsors, business leaders, program leaders, architects and delivery leads.

ESAs need a high level understanding of healthcare business to capture both functional andnonfunctional requirements for high level solutioning. ESAs provide the conceptual and logicalframeworks that are executed by project teams. This role provides the continuity from earlyconception to solutioning to deployment. In the latter area, the ESA is responsible to set theproject teams up for success with a strong technical structure and to provide guidance if issuespresent that deviate from the solution principles. ESAs also work with technical and businessfocused portfolios to evaluate the backlog of work, and recommend the technical sequencing offuture work.

ESAs work across COTS products, infrastructure, data, internally product development,integration, security and AI as needed per assigned solution work.

Job Description:

Working collaboratively, the candidate will partner with Portfolio Leaders and EnterpriseArchitects to provide technical leadership for a portfolio of work and/or large, complex enterpriseinitiatives.

The candidate also drives efforts to modernize technology platforms and systems, simplifyapplication inventory to standardize technology solutions as well as reduce the overalltechnology portfolio based on key performance metrics and other business drivers.

Candidates need to be comfortable working in a highly matrixed environment and self-driving ondeliverables. There is tremendous opportunity for self-starters to influence the templates anddeliverables that will drive value for Ascension Technologies business customers. ESAs areexposed to the most important and complex initiatives at Ascension. As such, the ability toconduct executive level conversations and presentations is required.

Accountabilities: Detail by Level

• Problem solving abilities spanning COTS systems, cloud infrastructure, data and AI
• Identify pain points and modernization opportunities
• Creates detailed Points of View (POV), employing a domain centric collaborativeapproach, providing architectural perspective and technology pattern recommendationsfor various Enterprise Architecture initiatives and other significant bodies of work asneeded
• Compares and contrasts different enterprise level architecture configurations and patternsbased on business value, operational resilience and cost considerations.
• Supports the creation of strategic roadmaps that sequence technology initiatives based onbusiness priorities and technical dependencies, aligning to the overall enterprisestrategy
• Provides Subject Matter Expertise (SME) for Architecture Review Board (ARB)Governance and Standards including serving as an AT representative on organization AIgovernance bodies and forums
• Possesses strong architecture modeling skills, experienced in leveraging EnterpriseArchitecture (EA) data models. Demonstrated ability to develop various diagrams andvisuals leveraging data sets within the EA data model
• Applies critical thinking for the development of nuanced architecture views to meetspecific needs given complexities of the existing technology ecosystem, providingactionable insights
• Applies strong expertise in multiple areas of architecture, including:
  • Business Architecture
  • Information & Data Architecture

  • Technology Architecture
  • Security Architecture
• Responsible for architecting solutions crossing multiple domains or business areas.
• Accountable for an understanding of enterprise's architecture, ie. MDM products,Integration Engines and ESL, microservices, key platform capabilities, hyperscaler/cloudcapabilities
• Works closely with partners inside and outside IT and across business communities inunderstanding and assessing technology requirements, identifying potential technologysolutions, always assessing existing technology investments as a first step
• Participates in cross-functional teams for developing and implementing new architectural patterns and standards. Works in conjunction with Enterprise Applications & Platforms, Data Delivery & Governance, Security, Legal, Compliance, Infrastructure, Product Engineering and other areas as necessary.

What You Will Need

Education:

• High School diploma equivalency with 5 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required, with 2 of those years being in leadership/management OR Associate's degree/Bachelor's degree with 3 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required, with 2 of those years being in leadership/management.

Additional Preferences

• Must have experience at a large technology products and services organization.
• Five or more years experience in an information technology discipline withincreasing responsibility.
• Healthcare IT experience is highly preferred, ideally encompassing a broad range ofbusiness areas, care delivery settings, including related processes, integration andsolution exposure.
• Product Model and Agile experience preferred (at scale)
• Familiarity with The Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF) and architecture modeling tools (e.g. Abacus, IBIS, Orbus iServer, MEGA, LeanIX, etc.
