Job summary

nVent in Solon, OH, is seeking an experienced manufacturing engineer to support multiple processes, drive productivity, and ensure uptime in a high-volume operation.

You will lead cross-functional projects, develop documentation, and champion Lean practices while interfacing with maintenance, product development, and operators to introduce new products and optimize layouts.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
  • 5+ years of experience.
  • Experience leading teams or significant cross-functional projects.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups or managers.
  • Desire to work in a hands-on manufacturing plant environment.
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook).
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement preferable.
  • Experience with AutoCAD and 3D Modeling preferable.

Responsibilities

  • Champion Lean Manufacturing across the plant through cross-functional events and Continuous Improvement projects.

WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS POSITION:

Support several manufacturing processes to ensure equipment uptime, meet production goals and maintain high product quality. Prepare and maintain manufacturing documentation (Routings, BOM’s, Standard Work, and Work Instructions) for new and existing equipment in manufacturing. Identify opportunities and lead projects to improve productivity, reduce costs, improve quality and achieve on time delivery to meet production needs. Lead new equipment financial justifications, installations, process modifications and improvements. Work with operators, team leads, value stream managers, and planners to optimize process center layouts and designs incorporating material flow and line balancing. Interface with Maintenance and operators to troubleshoot equipment problems. Coordinate with Product Development to successfully launch new products into a high-volume and diverse manufacturing environment. Champion Lean Manufacturing across the plant through cross-functional events and Continuous Improvement projects.

YOU HAVE:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
