Job summary

Farnsworth Group is seeking a Sr. Engineering Manager to lead engineering, staff development, and QC/QA services for transportation roadway and street projects.

You will support local, statewide, and nationwide clients across multiple design efforts. You will mentor staff, collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams, manage budgets and schedules, and work with leadership to guide the Transportation Group’s success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering; accredited program.
• 15+ years of transportation experience with diverse project experience.
• Licensed Illinois Professional Engineer (PE).
• Experience with IDOT, County, and Local Agency projects.
• Proven leadership skills with engineering staff.
• Strong team player in a multi-disciplinary environment.
• Ability to manage clients and deliver successful projects.

In this role, you will provide engineering, staff support, and QC/QA services for transportation roadway and street projects. Services are for local, statewide, and nationwide clients in the support of multiple planning and design projects.

What You’ll Do:

• Engineer, support, and provide QC/QA for projects related to transportation planning and design
• Develop and mentor staff
• Collaborate with other disciplines
• Develop and maintain Client Relations
• Establish and maintain budgets and schedules
• Work in partnership with leadership and other team members throughout the Transportation Group and Company

What You’ll Need:

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited Civil Engineering program
• 15+ years of transportation experience with diverse project experience
• Licensed Illinois Professional Engineer (PE)
• Experience working on and with IDOT, County, and Local Agency projects
• Proven leadership skills with engineering staff
• Strong team player in a multi-disciplinary environment
• Ability to effectively manage clients and deliver successful projects
• Ability to contribute to several projects simultaneously
• Working experience with Microsoft Office and knowledge of MicroStation, CONNECT, and ORD.
