At Blue Origin, we envision millions of people living and working in space for the benefit of Earth. We’re working to develop reusable, safe, and low-cost space vehicles and systems within a culture of safety, collaboration, and inclusion. Join our team of problem solvers as we add new chapters to the history of spaceflight!

This role is part of the Lunar Permanence business unit, which develops Blue Origin’s Blue Moon landers and related products. To further Blue Origin's mission of millions of people living and working in space for the benefit of Earth, we are building sustainable infrastructure for our transport of crew and cargo from Earth to the lunar surface.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Technical Leadership

Proven technical leadership delivering complex RF/digital mixed-signal communication PCBs and PCBAs—owning architecture and stack-up/impedance strategy, system and power integrity, EMI/EMC compliance, and design for manufacturability and test with suppliers. Lead the full subsystem life cycle – from concept, requirements, architecture, and design through analysis, integration, verification, and validation for lunar missions. Develop, track, and maintain analyses and simulations (e.g., line-up analysis, EM simulations) and drive technical excellence using advanced engineering fundamentals. Own the development, refinement, and continuous improvement of technical processes, tools, and best practices in communications engineering. Lead anomaly investigations, root cause analyses, recovery plans, and risk burn-down for complex development or flight issues in the Comms Subsystem. Drive completion of sub-assembly and assembly-level V&V activities, including reviewing and authoring subsystem test plans and supporting lab, environmental, or field test efforts.

Project/Program Management

Define, own, and control team schedule and cost baselines; manage competing priorities in a dynamic development environment. Manage external procurements and internal dependencies to meet delivery milestones. Drive programmatic and project excellence through a data-driven approach; balance technical performance, schedule, and budget.

People Leadership

Manage a team of engineers to specify, design, analyze, manufacture, integrate, test, and deliver mission-critical communications hardware and software. Recruit, hire, manage high-performing teams. Manage your direct reports’ professional development, including coaching, performance reviews, and career development. Serve as primary spokesperson/point of contact for the communications area to leadership, external customers, and technical partners.

Cross-Functional & External Engagement
