About The Job
Dudek is currently seeking a full-time Senior Engineer in our Engineering Division. This position provides planning and design support as part of a project team for water, wastewater, and recycled water projects, predominantly focused on infrastructure related planning, and design. The ideal candidate would be a registered professional engineer with 5 plus years of experience in water and wastewater infrastructure related civil engineering.This position will be based out of San Diego County.
Water resources professionals at Dudek work on innovative and relevant projects, frequently in a cross-discipline environment.Dudek offers a broad opportunity for personal growth based on an individual’s own performance and initiative.

Proposed salary range: $105,000 to $150,000 annually*

*Final agreed upon compensation will be based on a variety of factors including but not limited to an individual’s related experience, education, certification, skills, and work location.

Duties and Responsibilities (may include some or all of the below):
  • Leading the planning and analysis of water, wastewater and/or recycled water processes and facilities, including capacity analysis, facility plans, alternatives analysis, condition assessment, process evaluations, risk assessment, operations, and maintenance assessments.
  • Leading the design of water, wastewater and/or conveyance and treatment processes and facilities, open channel hydraulics, pump stations, reservoirs / storage facilities, treatment equipment (i.e., screens, clarifiers, blowers, dewatering equipment, filters, among others), including development of project plans, specification packages, calculations packages, and construction cost estimates.
  • Working in a multidisciplinary team coordinating and delegating work between the project manager, project engineers, and subconultants.
  • Support in the development and training of project engineers.
  • Working within a project budget and schedule in coordination with the project manager.
  • Capability to work in the field, including construction observation, inspections, field measurements, and monitoring equipment setup, as necessary.
  • Leading others in providing engineering services during construction, including reviewing contractor RFIs, submittals, change order requests, among others.
  • Potential for limited travel within San Diego, Orange County, Riverside, San Bernardino, Los Angeles, Ventura, Imperial, and Santa Barbara counties.
  • Technical document preparation.
* As a federal contractor, successful candidates are required to pass the following pre-employment requirements prior to beginning employment: pre - employment drug test and background check.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical Engineering or a similar discipline.
  • 5 plus years engineering experience in planning and design of mechanical and treatment related projects.
  • Professional Civil and/or Mechanical Engineer licensed in the State of California.
  • Skilled in the use of Microsoft office (Word and Excel), have excellent writing, organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Skilled in the use of design software including ArcGIS and AutoCAD.
The ideal candidate will contribute to and gain experience from Dudek’s qualified team to respond to request for proposals, deliver quality work, build relationships and engage in professional growth opportunities.

Working Conditions:
  • This job operates in a remote or office-based environment and this role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers, etc.
  • This job requires occasional project site visits-based outdoors which can include excessive noise, uneven walking surfaces, extreme weather, moving vehicles and equipment.

  • This job requires working on a computer, sitting or standing for long periods of time in an office or remote office setting.
