MISO in Minnesota is seeking a Transmission Modeling Engineer to build and maintain models that support reliability, economics, and policy studies, collaborating with Transmission Owners, Balancing Authorities, and RTOs. You will help ensure accurate data and support regulatory filings.
Role requires power system modeling expertise and experience with PSSE, MUST, TARA, TSAT, and related tools, plus familiarity with FERC/NERC requirements.
Within one year, the successful candidate consistently delivers high quality modeling outputs, integrates seamlessly with evolving processes, leads core modeling work and projects, and demonstrates growth in both technical depth and understanding of MISO's strategic priorities. They collaborate effectively across teams, champion process improvements, and contribute to the organization's culture of curiosity and continuous advancement.
The base salary compensation range being offered for this role is $124,000-149,000 USD annually. Base salary range for this position is included in accordance with requirements of various state/local pay transparency legislation. Please note that salaries may vary for different individuals in the same role based on several factors, including but not limited to location of the role, individual competencies, education/professional certifications, and qualifications/experience.
Position is also eligible for an annual bonus if individual performance and company objectives are met. MISO offers a comprehensive benefits package, including 401k, vacation, sick and safe time, available on your first day of employment. Appropriate level will be determined based upon experience and knowledge.
