Job Overview

The Sr Software Engineer works with a team of other software engineers, network and systems engineers to design, implement, and deploy software which meet customer requirements, scales easily, removes the limitations of traditional networking solutions, and supports deployment in highly available environments. The Sr Software Engineer actively participates in architecture and design of various software components focused on creating applications that leverage technologies such as virtualization, microservices, SDN, NFV, and Big Data platforms and technologies. They work on technical assignments that are moderately difficult, requiring judgment in resolving issues or in making recommendations. They work on assignments requiring considerable judgment and initiative, understand implications of work and make recommendations for solutions. They normally receive little instruction on daily work, and only require general instructions on newly introduced assignments.

Job Responsibilities

1. Technical Engineering Services: Drives engineering projects by developing software solutions; conducting tests and inspections; preparing reports and calculations. Expected to supervise base and associate level engineers as needed. Understands system protocols, how systems operate and data flows. Expected to independently develop a full software stack. Interacts with system engineers to define system requirements and automation needs.
2. Innovation: Contributes to designs to implement new ideas utilizing new frameworks to improve systems/processes/services. Reviews existing designs to identify more efficient methods. Understands creation of company IPR.
3. Technical Leadership: Collaborates with technical teams to deliver solutions. Continuously learns and teaches others about new technologies. Mentors or conducts in-house workshops and learning sessions.
4. Technology Strategy: Contributes to technology options supporting business goals. Independently develops full software stacks and understands system interactions and dependencies.
5. Technical Writing: Creates documentation on technology systems, designs, and business requirements for internal use and management consideration.

Education and Work Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Engineering (Required)
• 4-7 years of technical engineering experience (Required)

Base Pay Range: $113,600 - $205,000

Corporate Bonus Target: 15%
