The Opportunity:

We are seeking an experienced Sr. Software Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will oversee the technical design and development of software projects from start to finish. They will collaborate with a team of engineers to design, develop, and maintain software applications, ensuring timely delivery, adherence to budget, and quality standards. The Sr. Software Engineer should possess excellent technical and leadership skills, along with a passion for staying current with the latest developments in software engineering.

Responsibilities:

1. Lead the development team in designing, developing, and maintaining software products.
2. Develop and maintain high-quality software code.
3. Ensure technical project delivery is on time, within budget, and meets quality standards.
4. Define technical, operational, and security requirements for projects.
5. Collaborate with other teams to develop and uphold best practices in software development.
6. Provide technical leadership, guidance, and mentorship to team members.
7. Lead and participate in code reviews to ensure high-quality code conforming to best practices.
8. Explore and evaluate new technologies to enhance development processes and efficiencies.
9. Work with other teams to resolve technical issues, troubleshoot problems, and implement solutions.
10. Contribute to software documentation and user manuals.
11. Communicate effectively with team members, management, and stakeholders.

Skillset:

• Expertise in modern frontend technologies such as React, ES6/7 JavaScript, Webpack, HTML, and CSS.
• Proficiency in modern backend development with Node.js, ExpressJS, SQL (Aurora Postgres), and AWS.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to identify and resolve technical challenges.
• Experience with development tools like GitHub and JIRA.
• Experience with cloud-based development and deployment, especially AWS.
• Experience working in Agile, collaborative environments.
• Experience mentoring and coaching software engineers.

Education and Experience:

• At least 6 years of experience in software development.
• At least 5 years of experience with modern frontend (React.js) and backend (Node.js, Express.js) JavaScript development.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
