Job summary

Toyota's Connected Experiences Division (CXD) is delivering next-generation multimedia and connected services. We seek a passionate Senior Engineer to support development, launch, and continuous improvement of multimedia products within North America, reporting to the Quality Assurance Manager and collaborating with global teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 6+ years' experience in multimedia, telematics, connected services or automotive tech.
  • Experience delivering products through full development lifecycle.
  • Experience with suppliers and external vendors.

Responsibilities

  • Lead evaluation and launch of next-gen multimedia and telematics products.
  • Manage product evaluation across planning, design, implementation, testing, and launch.
  • Collaborate with North American teams, suppliers, and Toyota stakeholders.
  • Develop and improve standard processes to boost quality and efficiency.
  • Support post-launch QA and resolve issues with root-cause actions.
  • Monitor progress and manage risks related to schedule, cost, quality, and performance.
  • Identify issues and drive continuous improvements and lessons learned.

What We’re Looking For

Toyota's Connected Experiences Division (CXD) is delivering the next generation of connected vehicle experiences through multimedia, telematics, and connected services technologies. Our team works at the intersection of software, hardware, customer experience, and product quality to bring innovative mobility solutions to customers across North America. We are looking for a passionate and highly motivated Senior Engineer to support the development, launch, and continuous improvement of multimedia and connected services products. Reporting to the Quality Assurance Manager, this role will partner with North American and global stakeholders to deliver high-quality products while driving technical excellence, product innovation, and customer value.

What You’ll Be Doing

Success in this role means helping Toyota launch reliable, high-quality multimedia and connected services products while balancing customer needs, technical requirements, quality expectations, and business objectives.

You will play a key role across the product lifecycle, collaborating with internal teams, global partners, and suppliers to bring innovative connected experiences to market.

  • Lead the evaluation and launch of next-generation multimedia and telematics products, including defining technical requirements, reviewing system architecture, and ensuring software quality.
  • Manage product evaluation activities throughout the entire lifecycle, including planning, analysis, design, implementation, testing, launch, and ongoing support.
  • Partner with North American teams, suppliers, and Toyota Motor Corporation stakeholders to align priorities and deliver customer-focused connected services solutions.
  • Develop and improve standard processes that enable teams to focus on product quality, efficiency, and customer value.
  • Support post-launch quality assurance activities and help resolve product issues through effective root cause investigation and corrective actions.
  • Monitor project progress and proactively manage risks related to schedule, cost, quality, and performance objectives.
  • Identify issues, concerns, and process gaps while driving continuous improvement and lessons learned activities.
  • Recommend and implement solutions that remove barriers and improve overall program execution and delivery.
  • Benchmark industry trends, competitive products, and customer feedback to help shape future connected services and multimedia product strategies.
What You Bring
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
  • 6+ years of experience supporting multimedia systems, telematics products, connected services, or related automotive technologies.
  • Demonstrated automotive industry experience focused on connected services, telematics platforms, or multimedia products.
  • Experience developing technical requirements, functional specifications, architecture documentation, or system-level designs.
  • Experience successfully delivering products through the full product development lifecycle.
  • Experience working with suppliers and external vendors throughout product development and launch activities.
  • Strong communication, relationship management, analytical, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Willingness to travel up to 10% as business needs require.
  • A motor vehicle record that is acceptable by company standards is required for this position.
Added Bonus
  • If You Have Master's degree or higher in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • Extensive experience supporting automotive telematics, connected services, multimedia platforms, or digital customer experiences.
  • Experience working with API integrations, web services, Linux, UNIX, macOS, AWS, Azure, or comparable technology platforms.
  • Experience with programming languages and technologies such as Java, C#, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, PHP, C++, SQL, Swift, Android, or Cocoa Touch.
  • Professional certifications such as PMP, ITIL, Six Sigma, ACP, APMG, or DSDM.
