Job summary

Micron Technology is seeking a professional in Boise, Idaho, to optimize manufacturing scheduling and decision support processes. You'll conduct safety training, mentor team members, and lead interdepartmental meetings.

Job description

Responsibilities
  • Optimize scheduling automation, real‑time manufacturing decision‑support reporting and analysis, and line management analytics such as output, cycle time, and cost.
  • Complete all required safety training and conduct all work in accordance with Micron and Technology Development safety policies.
  • Follow safety and environmental procedures to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and report all safety‑related concerns immediately.
  • Perform audits and submit good catches on safety issues.
  • Partner with management to provide data analysis, advanced production web reports, and develop applications to improve production metrics.
  • Create and deliver effective presentations and lead interdepartmental meetings for simple to complex issues and projects.
  • Mentor others and clearly articulate complex ideas and issues to a broad audience.
  • Establish trusting relationships across local and global partner groups, participate in or lead global alignment meetings, and drive improvement solutions that meet the needs of customers.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of how process changes in one activity affect the function of other groups.
  • Partner with Operations Development Engineering teams to address OI cases and share global best known methods.
  • Support 24/7 OI systems when on call, and design and coordinate projects with several different departments.
  • Identify, innovate, design, and lead improvement efforts or special projects related to cycle time reduction, continuous improvement projects, and worldwide projects.
  • Identify project requirements and plan tasks to meet needed dates.
  • Understand Automated Material Handling System (AMHS) layout and analyze congestion and slow delivery times; provide metrics and reporting that drive improvements in AMHS operation efficiency and delivery times.
  • Optimize tool‑to‑tool delivery times and ensure on‑time delivery.
  • Deliver pre‑ and post‑metrics for OI enhancements and changes.
  • Follow the OI testing cycle (DEV/BETA/PROD) for new software releases to ensure quality implementation.
  • Apply industrial engineering concepts to line management, scheduling, and production planning.
  • Create and use analytical tools and data, data pipelines/ETL, visualizations, and applications to drive decisions.
  • Identify optimization opportunities for the fab and implement innovative solutions, automating fab processes to reduce variability and eliminate waste.
  • Develop, maintain, and improve scheduling and business rules.
Qualifications

Employer will accept a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Engineering or related field.

  • Manufacturing Science, including scheduling, inventory management, and capacity planning.
  • Database management methods and techniques including SQL.
  • Scripting, programming and visualization tools, including Python, Java, Splunk, Tableau, Matlab, C#, Perl, and RStudio.
  • Snowflake, Visual Studio, GIT, and Azure DevOps.
  • Application of data visualization, data collection, data analytics warehousing systems, and data cleansing.
  • Robotic Process Automation (UiPath and Microsoft Power Automate).
  • Big Data & Data Engineering (MongoDB, Pandas, NumPy, and Matplotlib).
