Job summary

PDS Health is seeking a Senior Full Stack Engineer to design and build cloud-native microservices with AI/ML enhancements. You will lead API-first development, containerization, and scalable architectures across distributed systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field; 5+ years of experience as alternative.
• 10+ years of software development experience building cloud-native apps.
• Proficiency in Python and libraries such as TensorFlow and PyTorch.
• AI usage for productivity, including code generation, debugging, test automation, and log anomaly detection.
• Expertise in multiple languages (C#, Rust, Java, Python, etc.) and related frameworks.
• Backend development with databases (SQL/NoSQL).
• Frontend SPA frameworks like Angular.js, React.js or Vue.js.
• Experience with scalable, resilient system design.
• Knowledge of enterprise cloud-native design principles and distributed messaging.
• Experience with event-driven architectures using Kafka or RabbitMQ.
• Security in microservices: OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, secrets, zero-trust.

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, and develop microservices-based apps for scalability.

Sr Engineer, Full Stack designs and builds scalable cloud-native applications while integrating emerging AI and machine learning capabilities into products and services. The role leads development of microservices, APIs, and full-stack solutions, ensuring reliability, security, and performance across distributed systems. The engineer collaborates with cross-functional teams to implement DevOps practices, automated delivery pipelines, and strong observability. The position also contributes to AI-driven features such as document processing, chatbots, and AI agents while maintaining high engineering standards and supporting agile development.

Responsibilities

• Architect, design and develop microservices-based applications to maintain and enhance scalability.
• Utilize containerization technologies to package and deploy application components consistently across various environments.
• Implement and manage container orchestration for automated deployment, scaling, and operation of application services.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement DevOps practices, including Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment pipelines, infrastructure as code (IaC), and automated testing.
• Architect and implement solutions that scale horizontally to meet dynamic and changing workloads while optimizing resource utilization.
• Design and implement resilient and fault-tolerant applications, ensuring high availability and quick recovery from failures.
• Implement robust monitoring and logging practices, leveraging tools like Prometheus and Grafana to ensure visibility into application performance.
• Champion API-first design principles, creating well-defined and documented APIs to facilitate seamless communication between microservices and external systems.
• Mentor and guide other developers, conducting code reviews, design reviews, and fostering a culture of engineering excellence and continuous learning.
• Assist in building AI/Machine Learning (ML) solutions including document understanding, summarization, and basic chatbot functionality.
• Support the development of AI agents and workflows that integrate with internal systems.
• Test and evaluate AI models, including large language models (LLMs) and computer vision systems.
• Gain exposure to MLOps practices, such as model versioning, deployment automation, and performance monitoring.
• Embrace and apply agile methodologies for rapid and iterative development cycles, responding quickly to changing requirements and delivering high-quality software.
• Document work clearly and follow established coding standards and practices.

Required

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field of study from an accredited college or university. In lieu of degree, 5+ years of experience.
• 10+ years of experience in software development, designing, developing and deploying cloud-native applications.
• Proficiency in Python and libraries such as TensorFlow and PyTorch.
• Expertise in utilizing AI for increased productivity and software quality, including code generation, debugging, test automation, and log anomaly detection.
• Expertise in multiple programming languages such as C#, Rust, Java, Python, or similar, and proficiency in relevant frameworks and libraries.
• Expertise in backend development and working knowledge of databases (e.g., SQL, NoSQL).
• Expertise in JavaScript frameworks like Angular.js, React.js or Vue.js for building single-page applications.
• Experience with scalable and resilient system design.
• Experience in Enterprise software design principles{{:}} cloud native application design (i.e., SOLID, 12 Factor applications, or similar), distributed message and event processing, API gateway, service mesh, serverless applications.
• Experience with event-driven architecture and real-time data processing using technologies like Kafka or RabbitMQ for building responsive, scalable systems.
• Strong knowledge of microservices security, including OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, secrets management, zero-trust architecture, and secure API design.

Preferred

• Knowledge of ISO standards such as ISO 27001 (information security), ISO 9001 (quality management), or related frameworks.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

• Skilled in developing and consuming RESTful APIs, and GraphQL
• In-depth knowledge in microservices architecture, containerization, and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes.
• In-depth understanding of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure automation.
• Experience in cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) offerings.
• Ability to stay current with developments in AI technologies{{:}} training/hands-on experimentation.
• Basic understanding of NLP or computer vision concepts.
• Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience in with monitoring, logging, and observability tools like Prometheus and Grafana.
• Demonstrated effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
• Interest in AI ethics, data privacy, and compliance standards (e.g., HIPAA).
