Job summary

PDS Health is seeking an Engineer III, Full Stack Innovations, to lead architecture, design, and development of cloud-native applications. You will build API-first microservices, implement automation pipelines, and mentor teams to deliver secure and observable software solutions.

Responsibilities include scalable microservices, containerization, IaC, and real-time monitoring with Prometheus/Grafana. The role emphasizes AI-enabled tooling and rapid delivery in a dynamic, high-availability

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field from an accredited college or university; 5+ years of experience in lieu of degree.
• 6+ years of experience in software development and cloud-native applications.
• Experience applying AI for productivity, including code generation, debugging, and test automation.
• Proficiency in C#, Rust, Java, or similar languages; backend development and databases (SQL/NoSQL).
• Experience with Angular.js, React.js or Vue.js for SPAs.
• Knowledge of microservices security and API design.

Engineer III, Full Stack Innovations leads the architecture, design, and development of scalable cloud-native applications using modern technologies and microservices. The role builds resilient systems, develops APIs and full-stack solutions, and works closely with cross-functional teams to implement DevOps practices and automated delivery pipelines. The engineer drives system design decisions, ensures performance, security, and observability, and supports complex, high-availability environments. The position also mentors other developers, promotes engineering best practices, and leverages AI and emerging technologies to improve software quality and innovation.

Responsibilities

• Architect, design and develop microservices-based applications to maintain and enhance scalability.
• Utilize containerization technologies to package and deploy application components consistently across various environments.
• Implement and manage container orchestration for automated deployment, scaling, and operation of application services.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement DevOps practices, including Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment pipelines, infrastructure as code (IaC), and automated testing.
• Architect and implement solutions that scale horizontally to meet dynamic and changing workloads while optimizing resource utilization.
• Design and implement resilient and fault-tolerant applications, ensuring high availability and quick recovery from failures.
• Implement robust monitoring and logging practices, leveraging tools like Prometheus and Grafana to ensure visibility into application performance.
• Champion API-first design principles, creating well-defined and documented APIs to facilitate seamless communication between microservices and external systems.
• Embrace and apply agile methodologies for rapid and iterative development cycles, responding quickly to changing requirements and delivering high-quality software.
• Document work clearly and follow established coding standards and practices.
• Mentor and guide other developers, conducting code reviews, design reviews, and fostering a culture of engineering excellence and continuous learning.

Required

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field of study from an accredited college or university. In lieu of degree, 5+ years of experience.
• 6+ years of experience in software development, designing, developing and deploying cloud-native applications.
• Expertise in utilizing AI for increased productivity and software quality, including code generation, debugging, test automation, and log anomaly detection.
• Expertise in multiple programming languages such as C#, Rust, Java, or similar, and proficiency in relevant frameworks and libraries.
• Expertise in backend development and working knowledge of databases (e.g., SQL, NoSQL).
• Expertise in JavaScript frameworks like Angular.js, React.js or Vue.js for building single-page applications.
• Experience with scalable and resilient system design.
• Experience in Enterprise software design principles: cloud native application design (i.e., SOLID, 12 Factor applications, or similar), distributed message and event processing, API gateway, service mesh, serverless applications.
• Experience with event-driven architecture and real-time data processing using technologies like Kafka or RabbitMQ for building responsive, scalable systems.
• Experience with integrating machine learning and AI models into software applications.
• Strong knowledge of microservices security, including OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, secrets management, zero-trust architecture, and secure API design.

Preferred

• Knowledge of ISO standards such as ISO 27001 (information security), ISO 9001 (quality management), or related frameworks.
• Knowledge in Python and relevant libraries/frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, Hugging Face Transformers, and LangChain.
• Hands-on experience with GenAI and LLMs, including fine-tuning, prompt engineering, and deploying RAG-based solutions.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

• Skilled in developing and consuming RESTful APIs, and GraphQL
• In-depth knowledge in microservices architecture, containerization, and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes.
• In-depth understanding of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure automation.
• Experience in cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) offerings.
• Experience in with monitoring, logging, and observability tools like Prometheus and Grafana.
• Demonstrated effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
• Interest in AI ethics, data privacy, and compliance standards (e.g., HIPAA).

Compensation Information
