GlobalFoundries is seeking a Sr. Engineer, Factory Systems Setup for its 300mm Fab 8 in Malta, NY. The role sits in Route Build, focused on creating and maintaining factory data configurations and processes on site.

You will lead configuration efforts, drive standardized practices, and collaborate with Operations, Process Integration, and Supply Chain to meet SLAs with a strong global perspective.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, IT, manufacturing or related field.
• 2 years of experience in setup of factory data using multiple configuration and execution systems.
• Experience with semiconductor factory systems applications including front-end wafer MES, Recipe Management, Statistical Process Control, and Business Process Management.
• Experience in Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills in factory systems.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and the ability to work across organizational levels.
• Ability to work effectively in a global environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead configuration efforts to drive setup requirements and deliverables that optimize quality, performance, and customer delivery metrics.
• Help establish a strong modeling and setup team.
• Develop and deploy global factory systems configuration processes and functions, building on Fab 1 and 7 experiences.
• Design standardized nomenclature, documentation, and change management across Fab 8 and other GlobalFoundries fabs.
• Build relationships with Operations, Factory Information Controls, Process Integration, and Supply Chain.
• Support SLAs with Operations and Process Integration and with Manufacturing Services.

Summary of Role

GlobalFoundries Fab 8 is seeking highly skilled and motivated Sr. Engineer, Factory Systems Setup to become part of our 300mm factory in Malta, NY. This position is within Route Build Department, which is responsible for creating and maintaining process flows in the factory systems. This role is fully on site.

Essential Responsibilities

• Perform as a lead engineer in the configuration team to drivesetup requirements and implementation that optimizes the quality, performance, and customer-delivery metrics of Fab 8.
• Contribute to establishing a strong, effective modeling and setup team
• Establish and deploy leading-edge global factory systems configuration business processes and functions, building on the successful experience of the GlobalFoundries Fab 1 and 7 setup organizations.
• Design and drive the use of common nomenclature, standardization, documentation, and change management, both internally with Fab 8 as well as globally with other GlobalFoundries fabs.
• Build relationships with internal partners including Operations, Factory Information Control Systems, Process Integration, and Supply Chain organizations.
• Support Service Level Agreements (SLA’s) with Operations and Process Integration and with other Manufacturing Services organizations.

Other Responsibilities

Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs.

Other duties as assigned by manager / supervisor.

Required Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, IT, manufacturing, or other relevant field and/or equivalent training and experience.
• Experience: 2 years of experiences in setup of factory data using multiple configuration and execution systems.
• Technical background and experience with semiconductor factory systems applications including front-end wafer MES (SiView, FactoryWorks, Fab300, PROMIS, or WorkStream), Recipe Management systems, Statistical Process Control systems, and Business Process Management systems.
• Experiences in continuous improvement methodologies, such as Lean Manufacturing.
• Accomplished analytical and trouble‑shooting skills in factory systems.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work effectively and communicate with all levels of an organization.
• Ability to work effectively in a global work environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a 300 mm wafer fab with a high degree of factory automation.
• Experience with the IBMSiView MES.

Expected Salary Range

$69,000.00 - $120,000.00
