Job summary

Sabre Industries is seeking a Senior Engineer – Telecom Components & New Product Development to lead product development from concept to production. You will design telecom mounts, frames, and assemblies, perform structural analyses, and guide cross-functional teams through testing and validation to deliver cost-effective, manufacturable solutions.

The role requires a strong background in mechanical/structural engineering, proficiency with SolidWorks, and experience with FEA and manufacturing

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, structural, manufacturing engineering, or related field.
• PE license or active pursuit of PE licensure preferred.
• Eligible and willingness to obtain additional state licenses as required.

Responsibilities

• Lead new product development and documentation from concept through design, prototyping, testing, validation, packaging and production release.
• Design telecommunications components, mounts, brackets, frames, platforms, and structural assemblies.
• Perform structural/mechanical analysis for wind, ice, seismic, equipment, dead, live, and other applicable loads.
• Evaluate load paths, capacity, deflection, stability, materials, and bolted/welded connections.
• Perform and lead FEA and other analysis methods for design optimization and failure investigations.
• Develop CAD models, production drawings, BOMs, calculations, specifications, and test plans.
• Apply Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles.
• Lead prototype development, testing, validation and design reviews.

Shape the Futureof Telecom Infrastructure: We are seekingaSenior Engineerto lead thedesign, development, analysis, testing, and commercializationof telecommunicationscomponents, mounting systems, and new products. This role combinesstructural/mechanical engineering, product development, FEA, manufacturing, and customer-focused engineering todeliver innovative, reliable, manufacturable, and cost-effective solutions.

Scope of Responsibility : The Senior Engineerwill lead thedesign, analysis, testing, validation, and manufacturabilityof products includingantenna mounts, equipmentbrackets, pole mounts, sector frames, platforms, rooftop and wallmounts, structuralassemblies, small cellproducts, and customtelecommunications hardware.

The role willtranslate customer andmarket requirements intopractical product solutionswhile partnering withEngineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Sourcing, Sales,Operations, vendors, andfield teams.

• Work with other departments to implement new software enhancements and technology driving efficiencies throughout the entire product development process from concept to production.
• Partner with Manufacturingto optimize welding, forming, machining, cutting, coating, assembly, tooling, and fixtures.
• Identify opportunities toreduce cost, materialusage, part count, production time, andassembly complexity.
• Lead prototype development, testing, validation, anddesign reviews.
• Perform root-causeanalysis and implementcorrective actions forquality, manufacturing,customer, and fieldissues.
• Support quotations, customizedproducts, customer inquiries, and technical salesactivities.
• Manage design and documentation for packaging requirements working with drafting, inventory and shipping departments, other internal groups, andvendors
• Develop engineering standards, procedures, design guides, and product documentation.
• Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and supportto other engineers.
• Stay current withtelecom technologies, engineeringstandards, materials, andmanufacturing processes.
• Travel to customerand vendor locationsas needed.

Experience

• 5+ years ofengineering experiencein product development, structural/mechanicalengineering,components, or manufacturing.
• Demonstrated experiencetaking products fromconcept through production.
• Experience with structuralsteel, aluminum, sheetmetal, or tubularproducts.
• Experience with FEA, prototyping, testing,validation, and failureanalysis.
• Experience with DFM/DFA and manufacturingprocesses.
• Telecommunications, wirelessinfrastructure, small cell, or outdoor equipmentexperience strongly preferred.
• Customer-facing ortechnical support experienceis a plus.

Skills & Abilities

• Strong technical leadership, mentoring, and projectmanagement capabilities.
• Strong understanding ofstructural/mechanical engineering, load paths, materials, stability, and productperformance.
• Knowledge of bolted, welded, and mechanicalconnection design.
• Proficiency withSolidWorks required. AutoCAD and/orother 3D CADsoftware is aplus.
• Experience with FEAand structural/mechanical analysis software.
• Strong knowledge ofmanufacturing processes, tooling, tolerances, andassembly.

Physical Requirements

• Position works primarily in an office environment; however, occasionally required to travel to customer and vendor locations
• Ability to use hand tools for light assembly/modification of test and prototype articles for third party or in-house lab work.
