Job summary

Lenovo is seeking a Senior Hardware Development Engineer in Morrisville, NC for the ThinkSystem server development group within the Infrastructure Solutions Group. You’ll lead architecture and development of next-generation data center hardware, shaping AI, cloud, and enterprise infrastructure.

You will mentor engineers, drive end-to-end hardware programs from concept through production, work with architects and executives to set direction, and collaborate with customers to deliver customized

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading the design and development of enterprise server, compute, or data center hardware platforms.
• Deep expertise in x86 and/or AMD-based system architecture, hardware design, and low-level platform validation.
• Strong background in PCB schematic design, EDA tools, hardware bring-up, and debug.

The position is for a Senior Hardware Development Engineer in the Lenovo Infrastructure Solutions Group (ISG), based in Morrisville, North Carolina. This is an exciting role in the ThinkSystem Server Development organization that has a strong focus to be the #1 trusted IT Partner in the Datacenter market. The Senior engineer will be looked upon to lead a set of highly motivated engineers to develop innovative and complex server designs to meet customer and business needs. These organic designs provide exposure to the latest technologies from Lenovo and its development partners to meet market demands.

Basic Requirements:

• Proven experience leading the design and development of enterprise server, compute, or data center hardware platforms.
• Deep expertise in x86 and/or AMD-based system architecture, hardware design, and low-level platform validation.
• Strong background in PCB schematic design, EDA tools, hardware bring-up, and debug.

Preferred Requirements:

• Demonstrated success leading engineering teams and delivering complex products from concept through production.
• Experience with server technologies, FPGA development, PCIe design, DC power design, or related platform technologies is highly desirable.
• Proficiency with Linux, Windows, and scripting languages such as Python, Bash, Perl, or PowerShell.
• Proven ability to lead global cross-functional teams, influence stakeholders, and drive execution in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills, with a passion for mentoring engineers and developing innovative technologies.
