Full Time

Experienced

Work Location: Willmar, Minnesota

This is a locally based hybrid position and is not a remote role. Candidates must live within reasonable commuting distance of Willmar, MN, or be willing to relocate to the area. A minimum of two days per week onsite is required, with additional onsite work based on customer, project, and support needs. Regular in-person engagement with our local customers is a core responsibility of this position.

Life-Science Innovationshas a full-time opportunity for a Sr. End User Computing Engineer / Telecommunication Engineer to join their team. This position leads the strategy, management, security, and modernization of the organization’s endpoint environment, including workstations, mobile devices, endpoint tools, and user technology services. This role focuses on advancing endpoint management through technologies such as Microsoft Intune, Windows Autopilot, Endpoint Central, patching, encryption, compliance, application deployment, and endpoint security. Working closely with IT teams, vendors, and business partners, this position develops secure, scalable, and supportable solutions that improve device governance, lifecycle management, and the overall end-user technology experience, while also supporting select telecom and Teams Phone responsibilities. This role requires more than deep endpoint engineering expertise. The successful candidate will also serve as a trusted technology partner to employees and leaders across multiple businesses and operating environments. This person must be comfortable translating between nontechnical users, technical teams, IT leadership, vendors, and executive leadership, and independently owning problems from initial business need through technical solution, implementation, communication, and support.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Serve as the senior technical owner for endpoint management platforms, standards, and processes across workstations and mobile devices.
  • Design, implement, and optimize endpoint management using Microsoft Intune, Windows Autopilot, Endpoint Central, Entra ID, Group Policy, and Microsoft 365.
  • Establish and maintain device provisioning standards, configuration baselines, compliance policies, and workstation lifecycle processes.
  • Lead Windows upgrades, device replacements, application deployment, patching, enrollment, and advanced endpoint troubleshooting.
  • Strengthen endpoint security through BitLocker, device hardening, vulnerability remediation, compliance, and CIS‑aligned configurations.
  • Own technology problems end‑to‑end, from an initially unclear business need through technical evaluation, implementation, communication, and support, coordinating across endpoint, systems, network, security, service desk, and vendors as needed.
  • Evaluate and recommend technology solutions by balancing security, usability, supportability, cost, business impact, and risk, and communicate those tradeoffs clearly to technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, standards, processes, and support procedures to create a consistent, scalable environment.
  • Serve as a trusted technology partner across our affiliated businesses and operating locations, translating needs between frontline employees, business leaders, IT teams, vendors, and executive leadership into practical, secure, and supportable solutions.
  • Support select telecom and Teams Phone services, including cellular devices, phones, conference room technology, carriers, and vendors.
  • Participate in IT projects, change management, ITSM processes, and cross‑functional initiatives impacting end‑user technology.
The ideal candidate will have the following educational and experience background:
  • 8+ years of progressive IT experience with significant experience in endpoint administration, desktop engineering, systems administration, or related roles.
  • Experience managing Windows endpoints and endpoint management platforms, including Microsoft Intune, Windows Autopilot, SCCM/Endpoint Configuration Manager, Endpoint Central, or similar.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Active Directory, Group Policy, networking, and end‑user technologies.
  • Strong understanding of endpoint security, including encryption, vulnerability remediation, device compliance, configuration baselines, conditional access, and least‑privilege principles.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate at a senior technical level, making sound decisions, evaluating risk, and balancing security, usability, scalability, supportability, and cost.
  • Experience developing and maintaining endpoint standards, processes, device provisioning, application deployment, patching, compliance, and workstation lifecycle management.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, problem‑solving, and customer service skills, with the ability to resolve complex endpoint and user technology issues.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, organization, and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with IT teams, vendors, business leaders, and end users.
  • Ability to work independently, identify risks and opportunities, make recommendations, and translate business needs into practical, secure, and supportable technology solutions.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent hands‑on experience.
  • Microsoft 365 Certified: Endpoint Administrator Associate or similar certification preferred.
Success in This Role Looks Like:
  • Endpoint standards are clear, secure, documented, and repeatable.
  • Workstations and mobile devices are easier to deploy, manage, patch, secure, and support.
  • Intune, Autopilot, Endpoint Central, and related tools are used in a practical, governed, and supportable way.
  • Security gaps related to endpoints are identified, prioritized, and steadily reduced.
  • Service Desk and Systems teams have better documentation, escalation paths, and support processes.
  • Local customers receive practical, responsive, and professional support.
  • Telecom and cellular responsibilities are handled reliably without distracting from the larger endpoint modernization mission.
  • The organization continues moving from reactive endpoint support toward planned, secure, scalable endpoint management.
Work Location and Travel:
  • Hybrid position within driving distance of Willmar, MN.
  • Minimum of two days per week onsite.
  • Regular onsite engagement with local customers is expected, including recurring 1:1s, site visits, and project/support coordination.
  • Occasional travel to other company locations may be required.
